CAC City of God Zone holds second Annual Leadership Refresher Course for ministers, elders, deaconesses, church workers



The 2nd edition of the annual Leadership Refresher Course of Christ Apostolic Church City of God Zone commenced on Wednesday 12th July with the Ministers only in attendance on Wednesday and Thursday while Elders, Deaconesses and Workers joining on Friday and Saturday 16th July, 2023


In his welcome address, the Zonal Superintendent, Prophet E.A. Badmus appreciated our Great and Gracious God for His Love, Mercy, Protection, Provision, Preservation and Divine Enablement towards the zone. Also, he appreciated the audience for their commitment, dedication and service in the Lord’s vineyard evidenced by the progress witnessed in the zone so far. He said the programme is a season of learning, unlearning and relearning.


He introduced the theme ‘’Capacity Building: Key to Profitable Service’’. He emphasized that there is the need to lay emphasis on capacity building considering the way and manner the concept of Christian is misunderstood, misinterpreted and under emphasized due to lack of capacity leading to little or no result in our time. In his words, capacity building is crucial to bearing abiding abundant fruits and being profitable as leaders.


He concluded by imploring the audience to relax, free their minds to accommodate all that the Holy Spirit has packaged for them. He wished them all insightful, impactful, instructive and inspiring learning sessions.


On the first day, the first lecture ‘’Capacity Building for soul winning mandate-Mt. 4:19’’ was taken by Pastor Samson Adeoye followed by the second lecture ‘’Goal Setting and Decision making in Ministry’’ by Evangelist Jacob Olulana


Day two started with a lecture on ‘’Acceptable and Profitable Service-Mt.25:19-30” by Elder Gabriel Oladipupo and 2nd lecture ‘’Management of 3Ms in Ministry (Men, Money and Materials)-Gen.2:15’’ was taken by Evangelist Jacob Olulana


Day three commenced with a Health talk ‘’Your Health, Your Responsibility-Act 20:28’’ was handled by Pastor Dr. John Oyekan, a professional Medical Doctor. He said ‘’If you don’t take personal responsibility of your health, the result will not make you happy but it will make others happy’’. He charged the audience to take personal responsibility for their health in order to fulfil their God-given purpose.


The second lecture was delivered by the ZS- Prophet E.A. Badmus. In his lecture ‘’Building Spiritual capacity for Kingdom relevance- Ex. 18:19-21’’, he highlighted that spiritual capacity determines physical productivity and practical application of what is learnt, read and heard is essential to capacity building thus capacity is developed by intentional actions. He emphasized that someone’s capacity can either be his lifter or limiter hence the audience is admonished to build capacity through personal fellowship with God, obedience, personal development, dynamic life of prayer and fasting, discipline among others.


The Guest Speaker, Rev. Dr. Bola Akin-John, President Church Growth International handled the two lectures of the last day. The first lecture is titled ‘’Faithful Stewardship in Christian Service’’ and second lecture ‘’Building People Management Capacity for effective Leadership’’. In his lectures, he said there are three laws of church growth viz: Law of the willingness of the Pastor for church growth, Law of willingness of members for church growth and Law of welcoming the Presence and Power of Holy Spirit. Personal growth, determination to follow good leadership, moving from inactivity to involvement, becoming true sheep and not goat, Prayerfulness and commitment are essential to faithful and profitable service.


Prayer sessions of grace for application were held with prophetic declarations and benediction by Prophet E.A. Badmus, Zonal Superintendent .
