A new chapter began for Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Ayo, Sabo-Oke Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC) on Sunday, June 22, 2025, with the induction of Pastor Michael Kayode Oloruntoba as the new DCC Superintendent.
Ministers and members from the DCC and beyond gathered at the DCC headquarters in Sabo-Oke, Ilorin, Kwara State for the auspicious occasion.
The Regional Superintendent, Babajide Region, Pastor Samuel O. Owolabi, was there to conduct the induction service in line with church's guidelines.
In his exhortation, the Regional Superintendent recognized Pastor Oloruntoba's ministerial achievements, citing his impressive track record.
He, however, encouraged him to continue doing better in "feeding the Lord's flock" citing Jesus' conversation with Peter in John 21:15-17.
Admonishing the inductee and the church on the topic "The Mutual Responsibility between the Pastor and the Flock," Pastor Owolabi highlighted the key duties of pastors as shepherd to the flock, referencing 1 Peter 5:1-4 and Hebrews 13:17.
"The duty of the shepherd is to preach the word, love the people, guard your heart, lead with integrity and stay close to Jesus. Any shepherd that does not imbibe these qualities is not a true shepherd." He noted.
He also admonished the members, as sheep, to cultivate a lifestyle of prayer, serve God with gladness, develop a spirit of forgiveness, and remain rooted in God's Word.
He noted that the Christian faith will be a smooth journey if the Shepherd (Pastor) and the flock (church) will play their respective role.
The soul-stirring charge by Pastor Owolabi was immediately followed by a prayer led by the Ilorin DCC Superintendent, Evangelist Emmanuel T. Akeredolu.
One of the highlights of the induction service was the rededication of the Prayer Power House also at the DCC headquarters.
The Secretary Sabo-Oke DCC, Pastor S.O. Adetoro, stated that the rededication of the prayer power house symbolises the church's commitment to prayer and spiritual growth
The induction service was graced by the presence of CAC Director of Publicity, Pastor Ademisoye Alawode; Retired Former Vice President Bible Society Of Nigeria, Pastor S. O. Komolafe; Retired DCC Superintendent, With God DCC Ibadan, Prophet N. O. Adigun and his wife; the Registrar, University Of Ibadan, Pastor G. O.
