Christ Apostolic Church Oshodi Zone, Oshodi, Lagos has held a one-day refresher course for Ministers and church workers as part of her 15th Annual Thanksgiving Anniversary.
The well attended programme started with a refresher course for Ministers and their Wives, Elders, Deacons, Deaconesses and Workers on Saturday 15th, July 2023 at the church auditorium.
Delivering the welcome address at the programme, the Zonal Superintendent, Pastor F.F. Daramola gave all glory and honour to the most high God for sparing everyone's life to be a witness of the year's refresher course, stating the theme of the program "Impact of Grace in the Church" as he welcomed everyone.
Also teaching on the topic "How Ministers' Home can Grow", the Zonal Superintendent said, every minister must learn to put God first at the center of their marriages and home because God is the only one who can sustain their home till the end.
He emphasized that many ministers do not give time and attention to their homes, adding that "all they care about is the ministry but all must be balanced. A minister of God must give close attention to his home so that it does not crumble."
He added that building boundaries, keeping friendship and speaking love language with one's spouse can also help a minister grow and uphold his home.
In another lecture, speaking on the topic "Place of Grace in the Ministry/Call", Pastor O.S. Olatokun said that no one can receive anything in life except it is given from above ( John 3:27).
He noted that, "every call or ministry has its own special grace attached to it, that is why you can't imitate anyone. His grace will only work in the area of your calling because God will only finance what He has called you to do."
During the third lecture, Pastor M.O.E Ige expressed that, "An elder, deacon or deaconess must be blameless in his or her moral character" noting that it is important for elders, deacons and deaconesses to be mindful of the position they occupy as it is a very spiritual position, adding that high level of sensitivity to their character and relationship with others is needed.
"Elders, deacons and deaconesses must work as a good steward under grace, the office is a difficult one not just a place of honour," he emphasized.
The clergyman said while addressing workers, that it is only the grace of God that can impact workers in fulfilling God's mandate, as the grace of God would discipline, teach and make them courageous and diligent soldiers in the house of God.
"All hands must be on desk from the greatest to the least in the house of God so as to enable progress in the House of God. There is no need for competition," the cleric concluded.
The refresher course ended with the 15th Oshodi Zonal Council Annual Thanksgiving, as each District, groups, ministers of God and everyone danced and rejoiced in the presence of God for another fulfilled year.
