The Regional Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Akinyele Region, Pastor S.A. Adedayo has urged leaders to prioritize integrity, emphasizing that it's a non-negotiable aspect of Christian leadership, without which leadership turns to manipulation and hypocrisy.
Pastor Adedayo emphasizes that God seeks leaders like David, Joseph, and Daniel — individuals with hearts aligned with His. He stresses that integrity-driven leadership is transformational and impactful, whereas its absence leads to manipulation or mere performance.
The Akinyele Regional Superintendent shared this insight during his message on 'Integrity: Major Ingredient for Effective Leadership' at the CAC Amazing Grace Zone's 2025 Refresher Course in Ikorodu, Lagos.
He defined integrity as steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code or the quality, condition of being whole or undivided, i.e. completeness.
Pastor Adedayo stated that the church of God which happen to be the solace and camp to get trusted personnel is beginning to queue behind unfaithfulness because it does not look profitable at the moment.
He added: ‘Should we now fold our hands and allow the wagon of illicit character replace integrity and godly morals? Definitely No.
Citing Jesus Christ as biblical model of integrity, the Clergyman stressed that Jesus, through his life and ministry, exemplified integrity, adding that He consistently demonstrated truth, compassion, and unwavering commitment to God's will, setting an example for all leaders.
He further used Daniel, Joseph and Nehemiah as examples of leaders of integrity, explaining that: ‘‘Daniel's unwavering commitment to his faith and principles, even in the face of royal pressure, is a powerful illustration of integrity. He refused to compromise his values, demonstrating the power of integrity in adversity. Joseph (Genesis 39) – He sustained and maintained his integrity despite the attractive temptation and false accusation laid against him and even endured going to prison. Nehemiah – He refused bribes while carrying out God's instruction of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. He led with a pure heart and his leadership style is worthy of emulation (Nehemiah 5:14-19).’’
The two-day program took place on Friday, July 27, and Saturday, July 28, 2025, with the first day reserved for ministers and their wives, and the second day open to all church workers.
The Superintendent of CAC Amazing Grace Zone, Pastor Timothy A.O. Yeorkun while speaking on the theme of the refresher course, ‘Preparing God's People for Quality Leadership Service’ said our Lord Jesus Christ remains the perfect example of a leader who served with excellence, humility, and vision.
He further said that Jesus Christ ordained twelve disciples not only to be with Him, but to be trained, sent out, and eventually commissioned to carry on His mission after His ascension (Mark 3:14).
Pastor Yerokun opined that the foundation of any lasting work—be it spiritual, family, or ministerial—has a significant impact on its success or failure (Psalm 11:3).
‘‘The lifestyle of the minister, his spouse, and his children plays a foundational role in shaping future leaders and in modeling what godly leadership should look like. Likewise, integrity is indispensable—it is required of all God's children, especially those entrusted with leadership. Our Lord Jesus demonstrated how to raise and equip His followers, not just through teaching, but through personal example (John 13:4–17). May we all learn from His model,’’ he said.
The Superintendent of CAC Somolu-Olaleye DCC, Pastor J. Oluwemimo Akinyomi, was the guest speaker on day one of the refresher course, lecturing on 'Minister's Home: Its Effect in Preparing for Leadership.'
He emphasized that a minister's ministry begins at home, with the church serving as an extension. He noted that God designed the minister's home and family to exemplify the sacred truths they teach.
Pastor Akinyomi emphasized that the spiritual welfare of a minister's family should be the top priority in their life, work, and plans, noting that no endeavor requires greater care and skill than maintaining a Christian home.
