CAC charts new course in empowering church leadership as 20 officers receive training on emotional intelligence at prestigious CMD Lagos Workshop

 



In a deliberate stride towards enhancing excellent and impactful leadership through emotional awareness and administration, the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), under the purposeful leadership of Pastor S. O. Oladele, has sponsored twenty officers for a transformative in-plant workshop on Emotional Intelligence in Church Administration. 

The training was held from 30 June to 2 July 2025 at the Centre for Management Development (CMD), Shangisha, Lagos State.

This initiative is one of the visible expressions of Pastor Oladele’s three-point agenda, focused on Building Capacity for effective ministry through continuous investment in the church’s vast human capital. The effort, described as strategic and spirit inspired, reflects a growing consciousness within CAC that emotional intelligence is no longer a corporate luxury but a ministerial necessity.

The CMD, a Federal Government owned apex Training Institution under the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, played host to the workshop, delivering sessions through seasoned professionals including Pastor Isaac Dunmoye, Barrister Rita Nwalupue, Dr. Mrs Olaitan Olusoji, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Uzoechi, Dr. Mrs. Patricia Ehiremhen, and Pastor Mrs. Ayomide Agemo.

In his welcome speech, the Director General of CMD, Mr. B. D. Chinoko, ably represented by Dr. Mrs. Olaitan Olusoji, highlighted the Centre’s mandate to stimulate and coordinate training, consultancy, and management research across diverse sectors. 

He commended CAC’s forward thinking leadership for recognising the importance of Emotional Intelligence in Faith Based Administration and urged participants to cascade the knowledge within their jurisdictions.

Speaking on behalf of the delegates, CAC General Secretary,BPastor E. E. Mapur, expressed deep gratitude to the church authority for such a visionary investment; “This workshop is not just a training,” he noted, “it is a reorientation for transformational leadership in the body of Christ. We are leaving here with tools that will strengthen both our character and our capacity.”

THe Director of Administration of the church, Pastor Tope Dada commended the calibre of the participants and their level of discipline and described the training as part of a larger developmental sequence planned for the Church. "This is not a one off,” he emphasised

He added that;“we are working in alignment with the President’s agenda to build Emotional Intelligence and Spiritually sound leaders. There will be follow up evaluations, and more officers will benefit from similar trainings soon.”

The sessions, delivered in a highly interactive and practical format, and very good serenity, covered vital topics such as: 

- Developing Emotional Intelligence in Church Administration; 

- Attitudinal Change and Ethical Conduct; 

- Emotional Intelligence and Leadership; 

- Use Emotional Intelligence in Church Administration; 

- Strategies for Promoting Emotional Intelligence in Church Governance; and 

- Challenges of Integrating Emotional Intelligence in Church Administration. 

The training addressed both scriptural and organisational dimensions, underscoring the role of Emotional Intelligence in building healthy congregations and sustainable structures.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants were awarded certificates of participation, marking not just the end of the training, but the beginning of a renewed commitment to applying emotional intelligence in their service to the church and society.
