The Director of Youth Affairs, Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samson O. Gbuyiro has admonished the youth on the importance of hearing the voice of God, telling them that they can't become a voice in their generation without the voice of the Lord.
He told the youths that they have been ordained to be a voice in their generation and they must be ready to hear from God like Prophet Samuel.
Pastor Gbuyiro stated this while giving the welcome charge on the topic "Speak Lord for Your Servant Hears" on Wednesday September 6, 2023 at the welcome service of CAC International Youth Conference, Ikeji III holding at CAC Babalola International Prayer Miracle Camp, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State.
According to him, God doesn't just speak, He speaks only when people are willing to hear Him speak, saying that if you're not willing to hear from Him, He won't speak to you.
The Cleric stated that anyone who wants to hear the voice of the Lord must position himself to hear from Him.
"Our expectations should be we want God to speak to us. Anybody who has come with a sincere heart to receive from God will always be expectant to receive from Him. It must be our desire to hear from the Lord just like Samuel. Until we hear from the Lord it's not very sure that God will answer our request. Hearing from the Lord is a confidence that God will answer to our request. God can't hear us if he has not spoken to us. God will hear my request if specifically he speaks to me. What God hasn't said, He will never do. Before God will do anything in a life, such person must have heard the voice of the Lord. Until God speaks to us, nothing will happen or work because God only performs what He said. We need to receive the voice of the Lord because we receive His promises," he stated.
Pastor Gbuyiro told the youths that God's greatest desire in the midst of His people is to speak to them, but only few people come to the gathering of God's children with the desire to hear God.
"A lot of people come to the presence of God with a long list of prayer points; you can hardly find people who come with the desire to hear God speak. God does not speak into the air, God speaks to people who are willing to hear. God will not speak to men what they love to hear, He will rather speak to them what they need to hear," he added.
The Director of Youth also stated that every major miracle in a man's life begins with divine direction which comes by the voice of God, adding that Samuel's life would have ended as a common person in Shiloh if he had not heard God's voice.
He then urged everyone to set their hearts towards hearing God, saying that, "God will not speak until there are men to hear, until there is willingness from men to hear Him."
"As long as men are not willing to hear or respond to God, God will not speak and until God breaks His silence over a person, a nation or a community, nothing will work," said the Director.
Concluding his charge, Pastor Gbuyiro made an altar call stating that God wants sinners to come to Him, leading many lives to salvation.
