The Christ Apostolic Church, Odo-Iye Districts' Church Council (DCC), Ilesha, Osun State recently concluded a two-day refresher course for ministers and workers on May 16th and 17th, 2025.
The programme, which started on Friday, May 16th, at 4 pm for ministers only with an opening prayer by Superintendent of Odo-Iye DCC, Pastor A.B. Ajani featured a lecture titled "Knowing Your Gifts" by Pastor Oriola from Christ Apostolic Church Seminary.
The lecture emphasized the importance of discovering, focusing on, and empowering one's spiritual gifts, citing Matthew 25:22. Pastor Oriola illustrated how neglecting one's gifts and seeking others' can lead to disorder in ministry.
The second day's programme commenced at 9 am with registrations, praise and worship sessions, and thanksgiving prayers.
The welcome address of Superintendent of Odo-Iye DCC, Pastor A.B. Ajani emphasized Jesus' relationship with His disciples and the importance of receiving God's gifts.
The 20mins charge focuses on Jesus with his disciple as a case study, he concluded by saying, though Jesus called us His friend but He was the giver and we must follow him. We are called to tell the world the greatest of our God through Jesus Christ.
Health Talk session was anchored by Dr. Femi Farinloye on the topic "Leaving a Healthy Life and Causes of Unhealthiness in the Body." He discussed factors contributing to sicknesses and the need for healthy living.
He pointed that as a Christian unhealthiness starts during the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. He mentioned, God allows death on man, with hope to redeemed man with eternal life.
In the same view, he listed some diseases often faced by patient (hypertension, diabetes, kidney failure, and prostate cancer among others) and some factors that cause sickness in the body, which includes Inheritance (Genesis), our lifestyle, sexual habits, and irregularity to hospitals as key factors that physically affect the longetivity of a man. The health talk was concluded on the need to take our health issues important, and to consult health professionals when necessary, series of health related questions asked and were answered.
The first lecture of the programme was was delivered by Pastor S.O. Omotosho on the topic “Understanding the roles and responsibility of church workers in Christ Apostolic Church.” He made an exposition on who is a church worker, basic qualifications of a church workers, the roles and responsibilities of a church worker today, challenges before a church worker and way-out.
After a brief break, the second lecture continued with the same guest speaker, Pastor Omotosho with the titled “Church Administration in Christ Apostolic Church.” He illuminated the concept of administration in C.A.C with the following questions; what is administration? Biblical concept of Administration, who is an Administrator? Types Of administration, system of Administration in CAC, basic requirement for administration appointments and challenges confronting CAC administration today and the possible wayouts.
He concluded saying charisma without character leads to disaster and a wrong vision destroys administration.
The refresher course ended with Holy Communion taken to seal the blessings received during the programme.
