The Chairperson of Christ Apostolic Church Ministers' Wives Fellowship, Mrs. Susanna Kehinde Oladele, has charged ministers' wives to embody faithful leadership at the Ikeji II Ministers' Wives Conference.
Delivering the welcome address at the CAC Babalola Memorial International Miracle Camp, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, on May 14, 2025, Mrs. Oladele emphasized the weight of responsibility on leaders, noting,
"What an ordinary person might do and get away with, a faithful leader might not. A great leader will always commit a great sin, while someone without a post might commit the same sin, but it would be regarded as a small sin.”
Using biblical examples, Mrs. Oladele highlighted the roles of notable women such as Deborah, who was a wife, mother, and warrior, and Sarah, who carried and birthed God's covenant to Abraham.
She noted that Deborah's faith in God enabled her and Barak to conquer their battles, saying,
"You and your spouse can learn a lesson from this on how to conquer your present battles."
She also referenced Sarah and Abraham's experience in Genesis 16:4, encouraging ministers' wives to reflect on the consequences of their decisions and repent.
Furthermore, Mrs. Oladele cited Esther's courage in Esther 4:16, emphasizing that challenges are a reality for ministers' wives.
She stressed that faith and action are necessary, even in difficult times, saying, "Is it only when it is rosy that you are a minister's wife? No! It cannot be rosy throughout the years of our labor here on earth unless John 16:33 has been erased from your Bible."
Using the examples of Rahab, who saved her household (Joshua 2:15-18), and Dorcas, known for her charitable works (Acts 9:36-42), Mrs. Oladele highlighted the importance of faith, action, and charity in the life of a minister's wife.
She also mentioned other biblical characters, including Ruth, Hannah, and Elizabeth, encouraging ministers' wives to emulate these examples of faithful leadership, saying,
“The examples given are about leaders who have done great things and saved nations, please try more in your own church assembly to become a true leader.” She advised.
The Ikeji 2 Ministers' Wives Conference, comprising Babalola, Medaiyese, Adelaja, Odubanjo, Orogun, Orekoya, Sophia Ajayi, and Latunde regions, is the second batch of the 52nd Ministers' Wives Fellowship Conference. This follows the successful Ikeji 1 conference, which was held from May 7-9, 2025, for ministers' wives from the Akinyele, Babajide, Odusona, Olutimehin, Hanson, Essien, Akilling, Pearce, and Anosike regions. The Ikeji 2 conference is scheduled to take place from May 14-16, 2025.
