CAC Babalola Region holds Babalola Regional Day 2023

 




Christ Apostolic Church, Babalola Region (Oyo State) on Saturday May 27, 2023 held Babalola Regional Day 2023.


The well attended service which had in attendance DCC Superintendents, Zonal Superintendents, District Superintendents, Pastors, Ministers Wives, Good Women, CACMA, Youth and Choir was held at the regional headquarters of the region, CAC Eleta DCC headquarters, Ibadan. 


It was a day of celebrating God's faithfulness in the region which came into existence in 2018. 


As a result of the voluminous administrative works of the Authority of our great Mission, Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas, the Church Authority decided to create Regional administration throughout Christ Apostolic Church and the General Executive Council approved the Regional administration structures on the 6th of October, 2016 in which Babalola Region was one of the Regions created and her Headquarters is Christ Apostolic Church Eleta DCC Hq, Eleta, Ibadan. Babalola Region constitutes Oyo State and Osun State and function as one of the Regional Administrative Organ created by the Church Authority.


The Regional administration commenced with effect from 1st January, 2018 and Pastor Michael O. Oyepetun was appointed as the first Regional Superintendent for Babalola Region. Pastor M.O. Oyepetun assumed the office of a Regional Superintendent with immediate effect and he was inducted as the pioneer Superintendent for Babalola Region on Sunday 20th May, 2018 by the Church Authority.


The responsibilities of the new Region/Regional Superintendent are stated as follows: 

i.To continue the expansion of the gospel by church planting throughout the Region under his charge:


ii. Effective, humane and wise management of Ministers, Staff and materials; 


iii. Seeking, loving and caring for members, the body of Christ without discrimination;


iv. Interacting with government to establish the presence and prayerful role of our Church in peaceful governance of the country; 


v. Ensuring that all financial returns and levies due to the Central Purse are remitted promptly from the Region;


vi. Loyalty and obedience to the Church Authority.


The Church policies on the Region are as follows: 

a. A Region shall be created to operate with a number of Districts Coordinating Councils and Zonal Councils with defined geographical boundaries cutting across State boundaries of Nigeria and overseas. 


b. A Regional Council shall be composed of Superintendents of all DCCs and Zones in the Region, and the appointees of the President of the Church.


c. (1) Regional Executive Council shall comprises of selected DCC/Zonal Superintendents and Elders of tested and exemplary character, as well as other worthy appointees of the Regional Superintendent not more than Thirty (30) members comprising of 20 Pastors and 10 Elders without prejudice to people who may be in attendance on adhoc basis with a life span of four (4) years, to be forwarded to the Church Authority for approval.


(ii) Only Elders of tested and exemplary character not less than ten years experience as Elders, highly proficient and literate in spoken and written English shall be appointed. 


(iii) The tenure of the Regional Executive shall be Four years renewable for a second and final term

of four years; for avoidance of doubt, no member of the Regional Council shall serve for more than a total number of eight years consecutively or otherwise,


d. Subject to the direction and control of the President, the Regional Council or Regional Executive Council shall assist the Regional Superintendent to mobilize members of the Church in the Region for the effective execution of Church policies, programmes and projects, and to advise on cases referred to her on such matter as finance, investment, discipline of Church workers and members, posting and so on.


e. Funding of the Regional Council shall in the main be through levies from DCCs and Zones as well as voluntary donations from individuals, groups and Associations. The Regional Finance Committee shall be similar to that of Church Finance Committee in composition, function and tenure. These are the instructions received from the Church Authority as regards the Region and Regional Superintendent.


The first inaugural meeting for Babalola Regional Council was held on 31st January, 2018 at Christ Apostolic Church Aghala Itura Zonal Hq. (now DCC Hq.) Olode, Thadan where about Seventy-three DCCs and Zones from both Oyo/Osun were in attendance and many progressive issues were discussed that day such as:


*.Creation/Appointment Posting to the Regional Superintendent.


*. Accommodation for the new Regional Superintendent. 


*. Church policies on the Region


*. Finance Committee and Budgetary Committee etc. 

Pastor M.O.Oyepetun the pioneering Superintendent served the Region meticulously until his retirement on 31st December, 2019.


Therefore, the incumbent Regional Superintendent of this Region, Pastor J.O. Ogunwuyi who is the second Regional Superintendent was posted in to Babalola Region on 1st January, 2020 and he took over the administration of this Region immediately. He was inducted by the Church Authority on Sunday 29th March, 2020 as Regional Superintendent for Babalola Region.


EMERGENCE OF NEW BABALOLA REGION

The General Executive Council of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas has created created six new Regions, with effect from 1st January, 2022, out of which Orogun Region was carved out from the old Babalola Region for the administrative convenience of the Church. Following the church policies on the Region administration, the following actions were embarked on since inception of new Babalola Region:


1. On 10th January, 2022, new Babalola Regional Executive Council were reconstituted.


2. New Regional Executive officers were appointed; 


3. Appointment of new Coordinators to the existing ones emerged for a new tenure in office; and


4. Reformation of Finance Committee for the period of four years. Earlier in 2022, as part of the Regional development, at the Regional Executive, Finance Committee and Council of Superintendents meetings, it was unanimously agreed that the old Regional office be renovated and befitting office be put in place as the regional Office. The project which began gradually and to the glory of God, it was successfully completed in cart June 2022, which was dedicated by the President of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overca Samuel O. Oladele, on Monday, 20th June, 2022. Presently, Babalola Region comprises a total number of sixteen (16) DCCs and twenty-nine (29) Zo which brings a total number of forty-five (45) DCCs and Zones in Babalola Regions.
