Christ Apostolic Church, Pentecostal District headquarters, Life and Power Zone, Lagos has celebrated her 25th anniversary amidst jubilations.

The anniversary thanksgiving service took place on Sunday 28th November, 2021 with the church auditorium and compound filled to the brim. The theme for the silver jubilee is “Shekinah” taken from Exodus chapter 33.

In his keynote address entitled “Seeking After God…And Glory Beyond,” the District Superintendent of CAC Pentecostal District, Pastor I.T. Ariyo stated that there are a lot of pressures for human beings in this life, saying in the midst of such pressures, there is one thing that will determine the course of individual’s life which are priorities.

He added that everyone has a set priorities and if priorities are not clearly defined humans will be swept downstream in life by various pressures, the seeming victim of circumstances, but if priorities are clear, then someone can respond to the pressures by making choices in line with priorities, and thereby give direction to life.

Pastor Ariyo stressed that: “pressure is what reveals your true priorities when the pressure is everything but the essential gets set aside. The Holy Spirit is telling us through David that seeking God is essential! If it’s not essential for you, then you’ve got to join David, the man after God’s heart, in making it so. Both glory of God and His presence are inseparable, such revelation is what SHEKINAH depicts. Seeking after God and His glory is our next desire in Pentecostal after the experience of 25 years of God’s faithfulness.”

While ministering on the topic, “Sustaining the Glory of God in Your Life,” Life and Power Zonal Superintendent, Pastor Mich 'Tunji Oladapo noted that sustaining the glory of God means retaining God in the right position in one’s life.

The Zonal Superintendent said ways to sustain God’s glory in individual’s life include: “recognizing and affirming your faith in God, Ensure there is no arrogance in your life, and avoid willful disobedience, amongst others.

At the anniversary, some personalities who played vital role in planting of the church 25 years ago were awarded with gifts. They include Deaconess Rachel Iyabo Odugbesi who was the first person to release her house to the church for use when the church was just starting; Elder Adekunte S.S. who served the church tirelessly for 16 solid years, Deaconess Janet Solomon who is the oldest member (she was among the foundation members and still a member of the church till date) and Pastor Mich’ Tunji Oladapo who is the planter of the church. Report has it that the church started as a result of passion for souls in the heart of Pastor Oladapo who visited Odokekere 25 years ago for evangelism and planted CAC Pentecostal assembly after the evangelism.

It will interest you to know that two pupils who are members of the church were also given scholarship for their education. The scholarship named ‘Babatunde Odumboni Scholarship’ is courtesy of late Mr. Odumboni family. Representing the family, two sons of the deceased, Mr. Kayode and Segun Odumboni noted that the scholarship was given in honour of their late father because of his passion for education (even assisting people academically) when he was alive and they don’t want the legacy to die. The scholarship, according to them will be an annual fund made available to recipients.
