It was a true celebration of love and fulfillment of the scriptures at the wedding ceremony of Jedidiah Oluwasemilore, first daughter of the Zonal Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Calvary Zone, Lagos, Pastor I.D.O. Akinpelu, who was joined with her long-time heartthrob, Daniel Oluwagbemileke.
At the bountiful wedding ceremony held yesterday, Thursday, May 29, 2025, at CAC Victoryland, Calvary Zonal Headquarters, Lagos, the new couple was joined together in the presence of their parents, family members, church members, friends, and well-wishers.
The Superintendent of CAC Idimu DCC, Lagos, Pastor S.O.A. Fadipe, conducted the solemnization of the holy matrimony.
Pastor Akinpelu, beaming with joy, majestically walked to the front when Pastor Fadipe, the marriage conductor, asked, 'Who gives this woman to be married to this man?' and with pride, took Jedidiah's right hand and handed her over to Pastor Fadipe for the solemnization, which was conducted wonderfully."
Basking in the euphoria of the ceremony, Jedidiah, along with her husband, captivated the congregation with a world class presentation of CAC Gospel Hymn Book 81.
The choir of CAC Calvary Zone and CAC His Fame House also blessed the congregation with inspiring musical ministrations.
The guest minister, renowned marriage coach, Pastor Bisi Adewale, delivered an impactful message on 'Understanding the Marriage Triangle,' drawing from 1 Corinthians 3:10.
He emphasized that marriage involves not two, but three entities.
According to him, couples need an understanding of the triangle as it is the key to a harmonious union while ignorance and negligence of it could bring about a challenging marriage.
He revealed that the three entities involved in marriage are Jesus Christ, the loving husband, and the bride, emphasizing the importance of Christ being at the head of marital union.
He noted that without Christ marriage will be full of crisis.
Using a 'platform ladder' as an illustration, Pastor Bisi Adewale emphasized that the closer a couple draws to God, the closer they become to each other.
He emphasized that the husband's primary role is to serve as the family's spiritual leader, or priest, while the wife's key role is to be a supportive partner, likened to Deborah, a leader and helper in the biblical context.
The Cleric noted that many homes face battles because God has been excluded.
"Many people lose opportunities because they lose God. With God comes His goodness; you will never walk alone. You will have His grace. You may have gifts, but without grace, you will use them to serve those who have it." He said.
He stated emphatically, that two good people can have a bad marriage if God is removed.
Speaking on 'the loving husband' as part of the three entities of marriage
(Colossians 3:19), Pastor Bisi Adewale charged husbands saying,
"You have been given a woman, not a wife. It is you that will locate a wife in her. You have to find a wife so that you will not locate a knife."
He then urged husbands to be grooms citing Joel 2:16.
"Don't be husband forever, remain a groom. A groom implies you should grow your wife; groom her to become what you want her to become" he explained.
"Inside every woman is a lamb or tiger, it is anyone you feed you will see. If you manhandle her when you are young, she will mishandle you when you are old." he added.
He unpacked the word 'GROOM' as a reminder for husbands: G - Grow your wife, R - Romance your wife, O - Organize your life to fulfill God's purpose for the marriage, O - Operate in love and wisdom, and M - Maturity.
He emphasized that maturity enables husbands to treat their wives like queens and their mothers with the respect due to a king's mother.
He also broke down the word 'BRIDE' as a guide for wives: B - Build a solid foundation in the bedroom, R - Respect your husband forever, I - Intentionally remain attractive and alluring (dress to tantalize), D - Define and affirm your husband, and E - Embrace his uniqueness.
He urged wives to pray for their husbands, emphasizing their role as armor bearer of the home.
He cautioned them against speaking negatively about their husbands or exposing what they're meant to keep confidential, instead encouraging them to defend and support their partners.
The wedding ceremony was attended by some notable ministers of God in Christ Apostolic Church including the wife of CAC General Superintendent, Mrs. M.F. Odejobi, CAC Director of Missions, Pastor Caxton S. Fasuyi and his wife, Mrs. J.T. Fasuyi, Superintendent of CAC Mokola DCC, Ibadan, Pastor Samson O.
