Big Brother Nigeria is a slam to humanity, says CAC Youth Officer, urges youths to follow Christ

The Youth Officer of Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, Pastor Samson O. Gbuyiro has described Big Brother Nigeria as a slam to humanity, urging the youths to follow Jesus Christ.

Pastor Gbuyiro who stated this while ministering on Sunday September 6, 2020 on the topic "Come and follow Me" at CAC Chapel of Grace, Ibadan, said the devil is making those who partake in Big Brother Nigeria feel they are famous, noting that following Jesus gives fame and blessing.

Big Brother Nigeria which has been largely criticized, is a reality show in which contestants live in an isolated house and compete for a large cash prize. They indulge in sexual immoralities and other immoral acts which led many youths astray. 

While quoting Luke chapter 18 verses 18 to 22, the Youth Officer Officer also said that there is  always a price tag in following Jesus, it is a journey which is not free, saying that it is an eternal privilege to follow Jesus, not a right.

According to him, the following is what the devil always tells people about following Jesus: "coming to Jesus is a burden, not a blessing; following Jesus is a punishment, not a privilege, following Jesus is a loss and not a gain, it is going to be a shame not a fame to follow Jesus; and following Jesus is a demotion not a promotion."

Citing Luke chapter 18 verse 20, Pastor Gbuyiro said with the testimony of those who have followed Jesus, following Him will make you leave some things, adding that following Jesus is about leaving something precious (Philippians 3:7).

The Cleric also said followers of Jesus don't get wealth by gathering, but by receiving from above, noting that they live by receiving from God.

"What God wants to take from us can no way be compared with what He wants to give us. He asked Abraham to give his son, Isaac, and he made him the father of all nations," he said.
