Palm Sunday: As Christians, our focus should be on the promised kingdom of God- Cleric

As Christians across the globe commemorate this year's Palm Sunday in the midst of deadly coronavirus and lockdown in many countries of the world,
the Minister in Charge of Christ Apostolic Church, Latona English Assembly, Osogbo, Pastor E. O. Olowookere has said that as Christians, our focus should be on the promised kingdom of God, thus we may suffer persecution when we refuse to be cooperating with every single action of the world leaders.

He noted that in fact, we ought to be careful not to be enslaved by such crafts and the amazing thing is that, most of the present world leaders are only useful tools unknowingly.

He added: "that's why, we are to be praying for them (especially those who are of God). Nevertheless, the current technological discovery is not a new apparatus to test the possibility of ruling the world under one government. If it doesn't work, they will move on to the next advanced stage. And that is how it will continue till the (true) church be taken out of the world. Then the beast would show his true colours by first meddling into the world crisis of that moment, later on he will promise peace (ceasefire) which he can't keep (see Daniel 8:25; 9:27; 11:21-24), and then begin to enforce his wicked agenda with the introduction of that mark-like program for people to have access to both basic needs and other essentials (Rev. 13:16, 17)."

Pastor Olowookere stated this while ministering at today's Palm Sunday service of the church live streamed on their official Facebook page.

The Cleric urged believers not to love the world, beware of materialism, be contented with what God blessed us with and should walk worthy of our calling/salvation.

He further said that believers should be sober and be vigilant so that the enemy will not caught us unaware, adding that we need not to entertain any fear (Matt. 24:6; Luke 21:9; 2Thess. 2:1,2).

"I believe whatever it is, when we guard ourselves with God's words, whether or not the rumors are true, it is never a problem but for us to be more dedicated to the Lord Jesus than ever. I therefore urge you to develop a healthy relationship with Jesus, the Saviour of the world, so that when He shall truly and eventually respond to the hosanna cry of the beloved, that you may not be left behind," he noted.
