"Be careful in the choice of your mentor. Prayerfully seek a trustworthy, exemplary mentor that is a mature Christian who has good testimonies. Mere moralist, socialist or academician without Christ cannot adequately help you. Such fellows can only degrade you," says Evang (Mrs) Funmi Jacobs at the recently held
2019 National Youth Conference, Akinyele Region, Ikeji III.

Evang. (Mrs.) Jacobs who ministered on the topic; "Young Christian Sisters: Battles and Winning Ways" also advised Christian sisters that they should engage in meditating on the scripture and reading Christian literatures that can truly help them while recommending her new book entitled "...OF VIRTUES AND ADDITIONS."

She also advised that they should make only Christian brethren their friends and be committed by serving in the Fellowship or in the Church.

While advising them to be discerning, the Cleric said a Christian lady is especially divinely intuitive, adding that they should be focused, disciplined and avoid wayward girls as close associates/best friends, saying that they should only associate with them with the purpose of evangelising.

"Pray until you are filled with the full measure of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the strength of every child of God who must win battles of life. He teaches our hands to fight and win all battles of life. When you are controlled by the Holy Spirit, you will remain in the will of God. Therefore, be led by the Spirit. Walk in the Spirit, you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Do not compromise your personal regular communication with God. This is the path to winning all battles of life,"

"Discover your talents and spiritual gifts. Develop these and deploy or use same to be a blessing to the society and the Body of Christ. Satan is evil and he finds evil works for empty hands. Therefore, avoid indolence and laziness. Be fully involved in aggressive evangelism," she noted.

She said young Christian sisters, just like other believers in Christ, are bound to face a host of challenges in various dimensions and these challenges are especially crucial to them as young women who professed faith in Christ Jesus.

According to her, our battles as Christians, are not carnal, but against the world, the flesh and the devil, adding that these battles, for a child of God, are like hurdles allowed to come our way in order to prove us if truly we are of and for God and if it is true that we cherish the glory set before us enough to appropriate the grace and help of the Spirit of God to endure and overcome.
