Pastor Abraham O. Akinosun

"There should be no silent workers in the Church. We are not saved so that we can sit, but to go out to serve, and shine the light to all the people around us and bring them to faith. A non-performing member of the Church is a useless member," the President of Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide, Pastor Abraham O. Akinosun has said.

Pastor said this recently at the inauguration of Babajide Region and induction of Pastor Moses A. Ogundeji as the Regional Superintendent. Babajide Region comprises of Kwara and Kogi States and it is made of 34 DCCs and Zones.

The Cleric maintained that the foundation of our service must be the truth, citing Apostle Paul's example, who served faithfully and truthfully and mentored several children in faith.

He however, lamented lack of adequate workers in the Church, in term of quality and quantity, to carry out the exercise, saying, "even the serving workers are not serving expectedly," adding that the situation called for total reappraisal to be able to change the negative trend.

According to Akinosun, much land is still needed to be covered in the areas of facilities maintenance, youth programmes, Sunday school, teenage department, children unit, visiting team and many more, stating that all are calling for attention.

Lamenting the ugly situation, the soft spoken clergyman said the unencouraging attitudes of our Church workers need to change to reflect the prime of place Jesus Christ placed on soul winning.

"The serving workers are not serving expectedly. The harvest is so much, but where are the labourers? The few we have are lazy," he said.

While quoting from Isaiah 60:1-3, the man of God condemned what he described as "silent workers," insisting that there should be no silent workers in the Church.

Performing the inauguration of the region, Akinosun tasked the new Regional Superintendent, Pastor Ogundeji and the new council officers to work together in unity to be able to lay a solid foundation for accelerated growth and benefits of all members.

He stated that loyalty, cooperation, harmony and obedience to the authorities are essential ingredients required of each one of them in their new position to justify the confidence reposed in them by the Church.

The new inductee, Pastor Ogundeji with his wife expressed gratitude to God and the authority of the Church for the honour done them to serve in the new position and promised to discharge their duties without fear or favour.
