English Assembly, CAC Essien Regional Headquarters holds 5th anniversary

In celebration of God's faithfulness and awesomeness over his church, the English Assembly of Christ Apostolic Church, Essien Regional Headquarters, Egba Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC), Isale-Ake, Abeokuta held her 5th anniversary on Sunday October 9, 2022.

The anniversary was marked with different activities which commenced with a three days power-packed revival from Monday, October 3rd to Wednesday 5th, 2022 with the theme "Rejoicing in Grace."

The Guest minister for the revival, Pastor Femi Solarin, a teacher of God's Word dished out to the congregants what grace implies and its function.

According to him, grace is an expression of God's sovereignty (Romans 9 : 15), it is an undeserved favour granted to inferiors by the superior (Luke 1 : 49, 2 Sam 9 : 1ff).

Furthermore, he stated;"it's an undeserved acceptance or love received from another without paying a dime  (Romans 5 : 8). Whenever you see grace, there is mercy, goodness and favour because they are used interchangeably."

He highlighted some functions of grace which include; it establishes one (Psalm 90 : 17), it accompanies (Psalm 23 : 6), grace makes you God's choice (Genesis 6 : 8) and it relieves one of disappointment, abandonment and rejection (Gen. 39 : 21).

The aftermath of this exposition of God's word led the congregation to pray meaningfully on days of the revival with testimonies.

The fourth day, Thursday, saw health talk delivered by Mrs Ajayi Blessing which centred on "Quality lifestyle." The dietician, in her address stressed the need for a good & healthy lifestyle as people go in pursuit of daily means.

She admonished the audience to take cognizance of what they eat and drink in maintaining quality health. Among other factors to considered when planning our meal include : age, sex, underlying illness, family background etc.

In addition, she laid emphasis on exercise and not undermining the importance of sleep both which would go a long way in shaping and bringing out the best we desire for.

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands - Psalm 66 : 1." This was the wonderful experience on the fifth day, Friday of the week tagged "Praise Evening". It was a moment of reflection of God's mercies and favour, who in return was accorded all glory and adoration. Song ministration featured, the wonderful and sonorous Champion Voices, Mission Squad and a solo performance by Dominion Oduronbi.

On Saturday, it was general cleaning of the church auditorium and its environ in preparedness for the final showdown the next day. All hands were on deck in ensuring this was successful as people turn out.

The grand finale, on Sunday bring the colourful and memorable week to climax as people from all walks of life graced the occasion, amongst these are the Essien Regional Superintendent, Pastor I. O. Eyebiokin.

The Assembly Pastor of the English Assembly, Pastor Ayo Oduronbi in his charge said; "when you cannot explain your success story, then it's grace at work."

Citing Proverbs 14 : 24, he said; "while labour is good, Christians must know that labour backed by grace results in success and testimonies."

He urged believers to key into rejoicing in God's grace, embrace it in a state of appreciation, with a mind of leveraging on it to go far in life.
