Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Iye Districts Coordinating Council (DCC), Ekiti State, recently held seminar for Ministers' and their Wives in the DCC.
The well attended programme was held at the DCC headquarters with the theme "A Vessel Prepared Unto Every Good Work."
While delivering the welcome address, the DCC Superintendent of CAC Oke-Iye DCC, Pastor S.O. Ajayi urged the ministers and their wives to be more united as labourers of Christ irrespective of their ranks.
He also urged them to make themselves good example to the church members and improve their callings theologically, administratively and spiritually.
In his lecture titled "God's expectations from His ministers and Wives at a time like this", Pastor Ajayi said ministers must lead the church to pray just like Mordecai who tore his clothes, went to the midst of the city and cried out and bitterly cry and went to the gate to get Esther's attention.
He further said that;"Mordecai would not accept the clothes sent to him by Esther, the crisis was still at hand and the lives of the Jews were under threat. Mordecai instructed Esther to approach the King and plead for the lives of the Jews. He finished by suggesting to Esther the possibility that she had become queen for such a time as this. Esther humble response demonstrates she knew it's not a one person assignment and that its successes heavily dependable on divine intervention. He gathered everyone and they fasted. Esther was brave to face the King. He is expected to relate to his wife as a husband and not as a little child of his mother. Emphasis is so much placed on this husband and wife relationship because a Pastor in the ministry can either fail or succeed through his wife."
The Cleric also said God expects man to provide for the economic and bodily needs of his children, so also must he care for spiritual one.
On God's expectation from the ministers' wives, the Cleric said the minister's wife who patterns her life after Hannah who he described as a woman of prayer, an industrious woman and a woman who denies herself for the call.
He said Ministers' Wives must know that they are called by God, cooperate with their husbands, no to compete with others in the church and strengthen her husband's spiritual life.
