By Oluwafemi Dosu

Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Anu District, under Apapa District Coordinating Council (DCC) Lagos, has held a sentforth service for Pastor and Mrs Olugbenga and Rachel Oludahunsi.

The unforgettable sentforth service took place on Sunday 5th of June, 2022 at Christ Apostolic Church Oke Anu District Headquarters, Lagos.

In his farewell speech, Pastor Solomon Olugbenga Oludahunsi appreciated  all superintendents, pastor's, Elders, Deaconesses and the entire members of the Oke Anu District and Apapa DCC for the imesurable support and cooperation over the past 7 years he spent in the District.

He specially thanked his former DCC Superintendent, Pastor J.O. Agbabiaka, who recommended him for promotion to the status of District Superintendent to the authority of the church which led him to the District as the 5th District Superintendent of Oke-Anu District.

Pastor Oludahunsi therefore enjoined all members of Oke-Anu District to cooperate with the new District Superintendent so that he can do more than what God has helped him to do during his tenure. He also admonished and challenged them from the epistle of Apostle Paul in 2Timothy 4:7.

"Do not let the work stop there, let all hands be on deck, another Nehemiah has emerged, let there be no Sanballat, Tobiah and Geshem that will hinder and disrupt the progress of God's work (Neh. 6:1). Brethren, Admonish the disorderly, comfort the feeble-minded, support the infirm, be patient unto all; see no one evil for evil may render to anyone, but always that which is good, pursue ye both to one another and to all; rejoice ye always; continually pray ye; in everything, give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus in regard to you. Quench not the spirit; despise not prophesying, prove all things, hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil and the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it. Brethren, pray for us, greet all the brethren with holy (greetings) I also charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, Amen. (I Thess. 5:14 -28), he advised.

Pastor Oludahunsi was transferred to CAC Oke-Anu as an acting District Superintendent in November 2014 and confirmed as the District Superintendent in March 2015 by the authority of the CAC Nigeria and Oversees.

While delivering his speech, the Apapa DCC Superintendent, Pastor J.O Igbokwe represented by Pastor E.O Oni noted that right from onset, Pastor Oludahunsi has courageously shone light and love into some of the darkest places of Oke-Anu district and its communities, noting that he has been an advocate for those who needed it and his immense contribution to the DCC and the people of Oke-Anu district are well noted and cherished.

"We are indeed grateful that in His wisdom, God choose you as a vibrant vessel. You have challenged us over the years to be passionate, imaginative, risk-taking, prayerful, people of God. As a pastor and leader, you have encouraged us to step out without fear, as a pilgrim of people into the mission field. As a committed man of God, you have undertaken many assignment for the DCC and the Oke Anu District. You bear witness to the spirit within you, and you have led with humanity, wisdom and grace. To God be the glory for Pastor Dahunsi Solomon who has been a committed, holistic educator and human development as a servant of God. One of his strength, ambition, and contribution in His spiritual mission is the ability to cross regional and National boundaries with the Gospel of Christ to the multitude as chaplaincy instructor.

"During your time with us at the DCC and at the District level, you have left a footprint - a healthier district and transforming district growing in Christ in life, light, and love. Your positive and progressive contributions during the DCC meetings are also well noted. Pastor Dahunsi's efforts in Apapa DCC are well known. Personally, I have gone a long way together with him not only as my colleague in the Ministry but as a personal friend. Pastor Dahunsi will not only be missed by Oke-Anu District members alone but, he will also be missed by Somorin District and the entire Apapa DCC for his fervency and commitment to the development of the Apapa DCC, Honestly, if it were within my power, I would love him to continue in this District and Apapa DCC for a longer time but it is not possible now. Pastor Dahunsi, we appreciate the work you did in Oke-Anu District and Apapa DCC. As you continue in your divine work and assignment in this mission (CAC), we commit you unto God's hand and the power of His might," he said.

Pastor Oludahunsi is succeeded by Pastor J.K Abolarin who is the new District Superintendent of CAC Oke-Anu.
