It was a day of celebration, joy, and heartfelt praise as Christ Apostolic Church, Somolu Districts’ Coordinating Council (DCC), commemorated the 5th Shiloh Anniversary alongside the 23rd DCC Anniversary at the headquarters in Somolu Apata, Lagos.
The event, which marked the first time the Shiloh celebration was held on a Saturday, was filled with vibrant worship, spiritual exhortation, and expressions of gratitude.
In his welcome address, the Somolu DCC Superintendent who doubles as the Akinyele Regional Secretary, Pastor Elisha Oluseyi Oyedeji, gave glory to God and expressed appreciation to the DCC executives, District Superintendents, Centre Pastors, and members for their unity and dedication in making the celebration a reality.
Emphasizing the anniversary’s theme, “Let Thy Kingdom Come” (Matthew 6:10), Pastor Oyedeji described it as more than a prayer. “Jesus was not just teaching His disciples how to pray,” he said. “He was establishing the structure of prayer which must focus on glorifying and honoring God and His Kingdom.”
He encouraged believers to evaluate their priorities in light of God’s eternal reign. “When the Kingdom is missing in your priorities, you’ve missed it all,” he stated. “But when the Kingdom rules your life, you are on the pathway to eternal life.”
Pastor Oyedeji further urged the congregation to actively restore and represent the Kingdom of God in their surroundings. “This theme is an eye opener—to restore, to establish, to rebuild, and to refocus,” he said, adding, “The kingdoms of this world are limited and corrupt, but God’s Kingdom is pure, eternal, and full of peace.”
Quoting gospel legend Jim Reeves, he asked, “If this world is not your home and you’re just passing by, then where are you passing to?”
The guest speaker, Pastor J.B. Olajide, preaching from Matthew 6:1–15, echoed the theme by stressing the urgent need for the Kingdom of God to be manifest on earth.
“Jesus knows the Kingdom of God is needed on this earth,” he declared. “Anyone who is a member of God’s Kingdom has a right to the Heavenly Kingdom.”
He reminded the audience that worldly systems, no matter how appealing, are under satanic control. “That’s why Jesus taught us to pray, ‘Let Thy Kingdom come.’ It’s not just a prayer point; it’s a spiritual strategy,” Prophet Olajide said.
Citing Galatians 4:4, he noted that Christ was sent to establish the Kingdom of God and to free believers from the curse of the law. “Once you are a child of God’s Kingdom, you have access to its benefits,” he said. “But to become a child of the Kingdom, you must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior.”
The service featured music ministrations from choirs across the DCC, including Oluwashina District, Solution Garden District, and Blessed District. The Somolu DCC Good Women Choir and the Somolu DCC Mass Choir also ministered, lifting voices in praise focused on God's Kingdom.
A prophetic prayer session, led by Superintendent of Solution Garden District, Pastor Samuel Abidoye stirred deep spiritual reflection and intercession among attendees.
Another highlight of the program was the induction of some of the DCC Youth officers including, Pastor M.B Ajayi, Supervising Minister; Evangelist Samuel Olamide Osifuye, DCC Youth Coordinator; Brother Dare Sotonwa, DCC Youth Secretary, and Evangelist Samuel Akeredolu, DCC Youth Assistant Secretary.
The thanksgiving session was a vibrant display of gratitude, as Superintendents and members from all districts and centres danced joyfully to the altar in praise to God.
Participating districts and centres included Apata District, Hallelujah District, Blessed District, Peace of God District, Unity District, Ogo-Oluwatobi District, Oke-Anu District, Oluwashina District, Divine Grace District, Redemption District, Oke-Itunu District, Help from Above District, Solution Garden District, Oke-Ife District, Oke-Idande District, Itedo-Anu Centre, Love of Christ Centre, Oke-Iyanu Shasha Centre, Mount of Miracle Centre, Jesus The Healer Centre, Ona Iwa-Mimo Centre, Light of the Nations Centre, and Healing City Centre.
