The Director of Youth Affairs, Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samson O. Gbuyiro has exposited one of the beatitudes stated by Jesus Christ in the popular Sermon on the Mount.

The text, Matthew 5:6 which says "blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled" was the point of emphasis for Pastor Gbuyiro's charge to members of Christ Apostolic Church, Chapel of Grace, Ibadan, Oyo State, on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

The cleric explained that God expects His children to consistently hunger for Him and is worried "when you don't feel hungry," the same way parents on earth would get worried when their children refuse to eat.

He noted that hunger for God is a necessity for Christian living, stressing the need for ceaseless prayers that are majored on material things.

"When you are hungry for God, you don't stop praying. But when you are only hungry for the things of God, when you get there, you stop praying," the Director said.

He explained that the way Bible directed prayers is not only for material things, citing that "if what I need is to build a house, after building a house, I will relax."

"There is a difference between God and the things of God," the cleric noted.

Illustrating to the congregation the importance of breathing in and out by humans, the CAC Director of Youth expressed that "breathing is a sign of life, that is what prayer is to a Christian. In the Spirit, you are dead when you stop praying."

"The motivation that will not make you tired of prayer is praying. It is not for the things of God but to pray to God," said Pastor Gbuyiro.
