The Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Ilorin Districts’ Coordinating Council (DCC), has concluded its 2026 Refresher Course for ministers, ministers’ wives, elders, deaconesses and other church workers, with a strong emphasis on spiritual renewal, ministerial effectiveness, family life and healthy living.
The two-day programme, held from Friday, September 11 to Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the CAC Oke Isegun DCC Headquarters, No. 92 Taiwo Isale, Ilorin, brought together church leaders and workers for biblical teachings, prayer sessions, health education, interactive workshops and Holy Communion.
The programme was organised to equip participants for more effective Christian service while strengthening their spiritual, ministerial and family responsibilities.
𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐖𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝
The first day of the programme was exclusively devoted to ministers and their wives, with sessions centred on prayer, the Word of God and family responsibilities.
Speaking on “The Ministry of Prayer and the Word,” Pastor Arowosegbe Samuel emphasised the need for ministers to maintain a consistent prayer life and remain committed to the study of the Scriptures.
He urged participants to depend on God for direction and allow the Word of God to shape their character, decisions and approach to ministry.
The teaching session was followed by an intensive prayer session during which participants sought divine intervention, renewal, grace and empowerment for their lives, families and ministries.
Addressing another key aspect of ministerial life, the Superintendent of CAC Ilorin DCC, Evangelist E. T. Akeredolu, spoke on “Balancing Family Responsibilities with Ministerial Assignments.”
He stressed the importance of giving adequate attention to family while carrying out ministerial duties, noting that a healthy and godly family remains an important foundation for effective ministry.
𝐁𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞-𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐲
The second day brought together ministers, their wives, elders, deaconesses and other church workers for a broader range of activities, including biblical teachings, health education, interactive sessions, prayer and practical workshops.
In his welcome address, Evangelist Akeredolu spoke on “The Bible: God’s Message to Man,” describing the Scriptures as the foundation of Christian faith, conduct, leadership and ministry.
He encouraged participants to allow the Word of God to guide their lives and transform their conduct as they serve in various capacities within the Church.
Pastor Oluwadero Luggard, Surulere Zonal Superintendent, further reinforced the emphasis on Scripture in his teaching, “The Bible as a Guide to Christian Living.”
He urged participants to demonstrate discipline, consistency and obedience while making practical application of biblical principles in their daily lives and church responsibilities.
𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧
The programme also addressed the physical well-being of church workers, with Dr. Fatunbi Rufus delivering a health talk on “Managing Hypertension.”
The session highlighted the importance of regular health checks, healthy lifestyle choices, proper medical care and responsible attention to personal health.
The health education formed part of the DCC's broader effort to promote holistic well-being among ministers and church workers.
𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩
A major spiritual highlight of the programme was an aggressive prayer session in which ministers and church workers prayed fervently for spiritual strength, divine empowerment, victory, revival and greater effectiveness in God's work.
Participants also prayed for their families, churches and areas of service, seeking God's guidance and intervention.
Another major feature was an interactive workshop in which participants were divided into six classes, with different teachers assigned to each group.
The workshop provided an avenue for participants to ask questions, share experiences and engage in practical discussions on issues affecting ministry and church administration.

At the close of the programme, the DCC Superintendent, Evangelist Akeredolu Emmanuel Toluwase, charged participants to return to their respective assemblies and departments with renewed commitment and a greater sense of responsibility.
He urged ministers and church workers to remain faithful to their calling, uphold biblical teachings, exhibit Christlike character and serve as worthy examples to those under their leadership.
The Superintendent also encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained during the refresher course and promote unity and cooperation in advancing the work of the Church.
𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧
The two-day event concluded with a Holy Communion Service, providing participants with an opportunity for fellowship, reflection and renewed dedication to Christ.
The service served as the spiritual climax of the programme, as participants gathered at the Lord's Table in remembrance of Christ's sacrifice and reaffirmed their commitment to faithful Christian service.
The 2026 CAC Ilorin DCC Refresher Course, held under the leadership of Evangelist Akeredolu Emmanuel Toluwase, combined biblical instruction, ministerial development, health education, practical engagement, prayer and communion.
The Ilorin DCC leadership reaffirmed its commitment to programmes aimed at strengthening and equipping ministers and church workers for effective service and the continued advancement of the Gospel.
