The Chairman of the General Executive Council of the Christ Apostolic Church Good Women Association, Pastor Joe Jacobs, has urged Christian women to anchor their prayers firmly on the Word of God, stressing that only Bible-based prayers can guarantee divine intervention and victory over the powers of darkness.
Pastor Jacobs gave the charge yesterday while delivering the opening message at the 82nd Conference of the CAC Good Women Association, currently holding at the CAC Babalola International Memorial Camp, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State.
The cleric outlined three essential principles for every believer: claiming the Word, praying the Word, and living the Word.
According to him, Christians must first know Jesus Christ, whom he described as the living Word, before they can genuinely claim God's promises.
"You must claim the Word by knowing Jesus. You cannot claim the Word without knowing Jesus because He is the Word. Claim His promises for your life, family and community, and let the Word become your testimony," he said.
Commending members of the CAC Good Women Association for their commitment to prayer, Pastor Jacobs described the fellowship as one of the most prayerful groups within the church, noting that their dedication had continued to inspire the body of Christ.
He, however, cautioned that passion for prayer alone is not enough, insisting that every prayer offered by believers must be rooted in the Scriptures.
"God still answers prayers, but our prayers must be guided by His Word. As you come to this camp, every prayer you pray must be Bible-based. The prayers that overcome the devil are those saturated with the Word of God. We are not just here to pray this year; we are here to pray the Word," he declared.
Beyond praying, Pastor Joe Jacobs urged participants to make a lifelong commitment to living according to God's Word, describing obedience as the pathway to enjoying God's blessings.
He encouraged the women to emulate the faith and godly lifestyle of the church's forebears, whom he said faithfully prioritised and obeyed the Scriptures.
"We cannot enjoy God when we pray in disobedience. You must obey God's voice, because obedience brings His blessings," he said.
Pastor Joe Jacobs also charged the women to uphold biblical standards in their worship and music ministry. He advised them to sing songs that reflect scriptural truth, warning against songs capable of creating division or promoting unwholesome values.
"Good Women are special singers and worshippers. Sing the Word and avoid songs that can lead to crisis. Do not dance to any song that is not rooted in the Word of God," he admonished.
The 82nd Conference of the CAC Good Women Association has drawn participants from across Odubanjo and Sophia-Ajayi Regions (Ondo and Ekiti States) for a period of worship, prayer, spiritual renewal and fellowship at the church's international camp in Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State.
