It was a celebration of love, faith and family as Favour Oluwatosin and Edward Olumide were recently joined in holy matrimony at a colourful wedding ceremony attended by prominent ministers of God, church leaders, family members and well-wishers.
The bride, Favour Oluwatosin, is the daughter of Elder and Mrs Michael Aladejebi. Elder Michael Aladejebi, PhD, is the Choirmaster of CAC Adekitan Zonal Headquarters, Mushin, Lagos, while the groom, Edward Olumide, is the son of Elder and Dcn Niran Abegunde.
The ceremony featured a Bible reading from Ephesians 5:21–26, setting the tone for a solemn celebration centred on Christian love, submission and mutual responsibility in marriage.
The couple were joined in holy matrimony by Pastor Gbenga Adelusi, Ebute-Metta DCC Superintendent, while the exhortation was delivered by Pastor M.K. Ehinmode, Amuwo-Odofin DCC Superintendent, at the service held at CAC Adekitan Zonal Headquarters, Mushin, Lagos.
Ministering on the topic, “Ingredients of a Blissful Home,” Pastor Ehinmode described marriage as a divine institution established by God for enjoyment and companionship, rather than endurance.
He challenged married couples and intending couples to undertake honest self-examination, asking thought-provoking questions such as: “Can you sincerely pray that your daughter or son marries someone like your partner?” and “If you had known your husband or wife better than this before marriage, would you still have married him or her?”
He also asked husbands: “Is your wife at rest under your roof or is she under arrest?” while challenging mothers with the question: “Are you a wife or a knife?”
According to the cleric, marriage is a lifelong covenant that should be entered into with seriousness and sustained with commitment.
He described holy wedlock as a “holy padlock,” emphasising that marriage is not designed to accommodate frequent exits, vacations or reversals, but is a covenant intended to last until death.
Pastor Ehinmode further warned couples against taking marriage lightly, noting that if Christ tarries, a significant portion of their lives will be spent in marriage.
“Do not gamble with your life,” he admonished, stressing that “it is easier to heal a broken bone than a broken home.”
The Amuwo-Odofin DCC Superintendent identified several God-given ingredients required for a successful and peaceful home, with particular emphasis on the God factor and the oil of love.
He urged couples to put God first and build their marital foundation on Him, noting that a home founded on God is better equipped to overcome the challenges of married life.
He also encouraged couples to keep the oil of love fresh by listening to one another, overlooking each other’s faults, valuing one another and expressing themselves openly.
According to him, effective communication, mutual understanding and genuine appreciation are essential to sustaining love and peace in the home.
The colourful ceremony also featured a powerful choir ministration as the choirs of CAC Adekitan, CAC Macaulay and CAC Araromi-Osogbo came together in a joint performance.
The combined choirs ministered through “Oba Nla” and “Efi Iyin Fun Oluwa,” leading the congregation in an atmosphere of joyful praise and thanksgiving to God.
The musical presentation added a memorable dimension to the wedding celebration and underscored the spiritual significance of the occasion.
The wedding attracted an array of respected ministers and church leaders who joined the families and congregation in celebrating the union.

Ehinmode, Amuwo-Odofin DCC Superintendent; Pastor Joshua Oyepetun, Acting Zonal Superintendent, Adekitan; Lady Evangelist S.O. Omotosho, wife of the Araromi-Osogbo DCC Superintendent; Pastor Testimony Adekola, PhD, District Superintendent, Idimu; Pastor M.O. Akande, PhD, District Superintendent, Oke Ibukun, Osogbo; Pastor Julius Elufadejun of Festac Cathedral; Pastor Benjamin Oladimeji; Pastor Moses Ayoola; Pastor Adeolu Grillo; Pastor Segun Adedoyin; Pastor Wole Aina; and Pastor Gabriel Ayofolarin.
Also in attendance were regional choir leaders led by the Akinyele Regional Choirmaster, Elder Sesan Taiwo, alongside several other anointed ministers of God, church members, relatives and friends of the families.
The ceremony concluded with prayers and goodwill messages for the newlyweds, with guests expressing confidence that the union would be marked by love, peace, fruitfulness and unwavering devotion to God.
