Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke-Ayo, Ojoyin Districts’ Coordinating Council (DCC), Ile-Ife, Osun State, organised a welcome and thanksgiving service in honour of Pastor Johnson Folusho Omitinde, the retired CAC Finance Director (Nigeria and Overseas), on March 22, 2026. Pastor Omitinde officially retired from active service in December 2025.
The event witnessed the presence of several church leaders and well-wishers, including Pastor A.O. Akinwumi, DCC Superintendent of Ojoyin; Pastor John Igbokwe; Pastor Obafemi; Pastor Adesoji Ikeji, Arajeji Camp Manager; district superintendents; as well as friends and family of the retired finance director.
Pastor Omitinde served the church as Finance Director for 33 years, during which he recorded significant achievements, transforming the finance department from an analogue system to a fully digital one. His tireless efforts ensured that the department is now staffed with well-trained professionals.
In his sermon, Pastor John Igbokwe, who represented the Regional Superintendent, Pastor E.S. Famuyide, drew inspiration from John 13:13–17 and Ecclesiastes 7:8. He explained that the account of Jesus washing the feet of His disciples in John 13 teaches humility and service. He noted that Pastor Omitinde exemplified this virtue, having served faithfully and selflessly for decades without seeking personal glory, but working diligently for the growth and stability of the church.
From Ecclesiastes 7:8, which states that “the end of a matter is better than its beginning,” he encouraged the congregation to appreciate the value of perseverance and patience. He emphasised that life and service occur in stages, and that Pastor Omitinde’s long tenure demonstrates the rewards of steadfast commitment, integrity, and faithfulness in every phase of life.
The congregation joined Pastor Omitinde in thanking God for his successful transition into retirement, celebrating his decades of dedicated service, and praying for continued guidance and blessings in this new phase of his life.
