‎CAC Ibadan DCC holds annual refresher course ‎

‎The Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Ibadan District Coordinating Council (DCC) recently held its annual refresher course for ministers and their wives, a gathering designed to strengthen ministers spiritually and enhance effectiveness in their calling.

‎The programme, themed “You, Your Ministry and the Word of God,” took place at the Ibadan DCC Headquarters, CAC Agbokojo, Ibadan, Oyo State.

‎The seminar brought together ministers from various districts for a time of teaching, reflection, and renewal in the work of the ministry.

‎In attendance were the Ibadan DCC Superintendent, Pastor Z.O.A. Olokesusi; District Superintendents; Assembly Pastors; Evangelists; and ministers’ wives, who were also well represented at the programme.

‎In his welcome address, Pastor Olokesusi spoke on the topic “The Minister in the Will of God,” drawing his text from Matthew 7:21. He encouraged ministers to continually seek the will of God in their ministry, emphasizing that the work of God requires obedience, sincerity, and commitment to His Word.

‎He reminded participants that doing the will of God is far more important than mere appearance in ministry.

‎The resource person for the seminar, Pastor E.O. Obagunla—also a District Superintendent under Ibadan DCC—delivered a lecture titled “The Need for an Effective Home in the Ministry: Its Requirements, Challenges, and Prospects,” based on 1 Timothy 3:1–7.

‎He explained that the home of a minister plays a vital role in the success of the ministry, describing it as a “glass house” open to public view and subject to various pressures and expectations.

‎He stressed that the biblical instruction in 1 Timothy 3:4—“one that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity”—remains the standard for building a godly home that reflects God’s purpose.

‎According to him, the minister must view the home not merely as a private residence but as the first congregation where godly values are lived out. He noted that when the home is well managed, it strengthens public confidence in the minister and his message, whereas disorder in the home can weaken the authority of the pulpit.

‎The refresher course provided ministers with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of their calling and to reflect on their lives and ministry. It served as a reminder that their personal lives, families, and ministries must always align with the Word of God.

‎The programme also encouraged participants to remain faithful, committed, and focused in serving God and His people.
