The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and joy as members of Christ Apostolic Church, All Saints Chapel, Basorun, Ibadan gathered for the New Year Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, 8 February 2026. Children, youths, men, women, and clergy danced heartily in appreciation of God’s faithfulness.
The special annual service was graced by the President of Christ Apostolic Church (Nigeria and Overseas), Pastor S. O. Oladele, who attended alongside his wife, Mrs. Suzanna Kehinde Oladele.
The service commenced promptly at 9:00 a.m. with an opening hymn from the Christ Apostolic Church Hymn Book, Hymn 95 – “Praise to the Lord.”
Delivering the sermon titled “With Christ in the Ship,” Pastor Oladele read from John 6:16–21, highlighting how the disciples encountered a fierce storm and how the appearance of Jesus brought calm, comfort, and instant deliverance.
He admonished the congregation to ensure that Christ is in their ship in 2026 and beyond. Speaking categorically, the CAC President noted that although human companionship can be pleasant and supportive, such companions may sometimes fail.
Pastor Oladele therefore encouraged worshippers to seek a deeper relationship with the One who never fails—Jesus Christ.
He emphasized that Jesus is the only unfailing companion, Emmanuel, God with us, and that with Christ in one’s ship, there is no reason to fear, as He has conquered all.
The service concluded with special New Year blessings pronounced upon the congregation.
