‎CAC Finance Director lays mother to rest ‎

‎The Finance Director of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Emmanuel Olusanya Olagunju, has laid his mother, the late Deaconess Victoria Bolajoko Ogunlusi Olagunju, to rest.

‎Deaconess Olagunju passed away in the early hours of 7 October 2025 at the age of 100.

‎The burial rites commenced with a Christian wake service on 29 January 2026 at Ijero-Ekiti, Ekiti State. This was followed by the interment service on 30 January 2026 at the residence of the deceased. An outing and thanksgiving service later took place at Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Igbala DCC Headquarters, Ijero, while a reception ceremony rounded off the burial activities.

‎At the graveside service, a sermon titled “Vanity of Life” was delivered by the Director and Chairman of Missions, CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor C. S. Fasuyi, from Ecclesiastes 2:3–11. He reminded the congregation that human achievements and riches are meaningless without God.

‎Referencing Mark 8:36, Pastor Fasuyi emphasized that no amount of wealth, position, or earthly success can be compared to the value of the human soul. He warned that the pursuit of money, power, and recognition at the expense of God leads to eternal loss. According to him, true profit in life comes from obedience to God and preparation for eternity. He cited the example of Alexander the Great to illustrate that no one, regardless of power or status, can escape death.

‎At the outing thanksgiving service held at CAC Oke-Igbala, Ijero DCC Headquarters, the sermon titled “A Life Hidden in Christ” was preached by the General Secretary, CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Emmanuel Ezekiel Mapur, who represented the President of the Church, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele.

‎Expounding Colossians 3:3–4, Pastor Mapur taught that a believer’s true life is no longer rooted in earthly things but in Christ. He explained that living in union with Christ protects believers from sin and helps them focus on eternal rewards rather than temporary gains.

‎He reminded the congregation that when Christ appears, those whose lives are hidden in Him will also appear in glory. Christians were encouraged to set their hearts on heavenly things, live in faith and humility, trust God completely, and enjoy present peace in Christ while awaiting future glory.

‎Notable ministers in attendance included Regional Superintendent Sophia Ajayi; Pastor S. I. Jayeoba; Regional Superintendent Babalola; Pastor G. S. Dada; the DCC Superintendent of CAC Ketu, Lagos, Pastor M. A. Ajayi; CAC Administration Manager, Elder Kolawole Oyerinde; members of CAC Ketu DCC; and staff of the CAC General Secretariat, Ibadan.

‎The services were enlivened by ministration from the CAC Ijero DCC Choir and the Ketu DCC Good Women Choir.

‎The reception was led by the world-renowned gospel singer, Pastor J. A. Adelakun (Ayewa International).

‎During the reception, the son of the deceased, Pastor Sanya Olagunju, Director of Finance, CAC Nigeria and Overseas, went round to greet invited guests as family members and well-wishers gradually dispersed, thanking God for a century of faith and service.
