The Provost of Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary (CACTS), Ile-Ife, Pastor Francis Ayo Olaniyi, has reiterated the seminary’s commitment to maintaining uncompromised teaching standards across its newly inaugurated study centres in Akure, Ilorin, Ijebu and Okitipupa.

He stated this during the Pre-Convocation Press Conference held on Monday at the seminary.

Pastor Olaniyi explained that quality control has become a necessity as the seminary cannot afford to operate what he described as a “wishy-washy system.”

He noted that while many seminaries run study centres without the required capacity, CACTS is intentional about ensuring that every centre reflects the excellence the institution is known for.

According to him, CAC is blessed with qualified personnel across different states who possess the academic and ministerial competence required to lecture at the seminary. He emphasized that not everyone is eligible to teach at CACTS study centres, as there are clear criteria in place.

“One of the criteria is that you must have a foundation in CAC Theological Seminary because you cannot teach what you do not have,” he stated. “You must also possess credible degrees. We are not just establishing study centres; we are building quality brands.”

The Provost stressed that the seminary aims not only to expand but also to strengthen the capacity of CAC members and clergy. He revealed that in the near future, having a CACTS certificate would become a compulsory requirement for ordination as a pastor in Christ Apostolic Church.

“Our fathers are thinking in that direction, and that is why no one can lecture in our seminary without having CACTS qualifications,” he added.

Citing an example, he noted that someone at the main campus with a Ph.D. from Ilorin is currently undergoing a Master’s programme at CACTS—not as a downgrade, but because the seminary’s certificate is becoming an essential benchmark.

Pastor Olaniyi also disclosed that a lecturer from one of the study centres was recently disengaged for failing to meet the required standards, describing it as part of efforts to safeguard academic integrity.

“We are on the watch. Very soon, people will know that we mean business,” he concluded.
