The 2025 Youth Week h hhhof Christ Apostolic Church, Odo-Iye DCC Headquarters, Igando, Ilesa, Osun State, was held between Wednesday, August 20, and Sunday, August 24, drawing hundreds of young people into a week of evangelism, worship, fellowship, and thanksgiving.
The four-day program, themed “Youth with Christ Symbol” (Ephesians 4:17–31), featured a blend of spiritual, educational, and recreational activities designed to build faith and unity among the youth across districts under the DCC.
Evangelism and Outreach
The Youth Week commenced on Wednesday, August 20, with house-to-house and street evangelism, as youths across Odo-Iye DCC stormed the community with the gospel message. Organizers described the outreach as a “great harvest of souls,” noting that beyond the numerical impact, the ultimate joy was in “having names written in the Book of Life.”
Encounter Night
On Friday, August 22, the program reached its spiritual climax with an “Encounter Night,” a powerful service filled with prayers, hymns, and spirit-led ministrations.
The service opened with hymns from the CAC Gospel Hymn Book and an opening prayer by Pastor Akpochimora Solomon. The DCC Youth Coordinator, Pastor Publius Olanrewaju, in his welcome address, expressed gratitude to God and appreciated CAC leadership at all levels, including the church’s President, General Superintendent, General Evangelist, and Director of Youth Affairs, as well as the DCC Superintendent, Pastor A.B. Ajani.
Pastor (Mrs) Olanrewaju led a special ministration, followed by intensive prayer sessions led by ministers such as Pastor Crown Odusanwo (Igando District Coordinator), Pastor Publius Olanrewaju, and Pastor Adadairo John (Ijesha Axis Youth Coordinator).
The Orogun Regional Youth Coordinator, Pastor (Dr) Akande, delivered the theme exposition on “Who is the Holy Spirit?” He emphasized the role of the Holy Spirit as comforter, teacher, intercessor, and source of empowerment, citing scriptures such as John 14:26, Acts 2:38, and Romans 8:14. His message was followed by fervent prayers, with testimonies of deliverance and an evident outpouring of the Spirit.
The night also featured a Bible quiz, where Igando District emerged as winner with 30 points, followed by Oke-Iyin (25 points), Irojo (10 points), and Keke (2 points). In the musical competition, Keke Proposed District came first.
Sports and Fellowship
Saturday, August 23, was dedicated to sports fellowship, with an inter-district football competition. The Odo-Iye Green Team emerged as champions, while players received individual awards, including “Man of the Match” and “Best Goalkeeper.”
Thanksgiving Service
The Youth Week concluded on Sunday, August 24, with a colorful Thanksgiving Service tagged “Youth with Christ Symbol.” The service featured hymns, prayers, and scripture readings before the DCC Youth Secretary, Sister Oluwakemi, introduced guests district by district.
The Director of Youth Affairs for CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor (Dr) Peter Olanrewaju, delivered the sermon, stressing that true representation of Christ goes beyond outward appearances to a transformed inner life. “Your loudest sermon is not your message on the pulpit but your lifestyle,” he told the congregation. He highlighted forgiveness, love, holiness, and righteousness as essential marks of bearing Christ’s symbol.
During the thanksgiving, the youth presented awards of appreciation and certificates of recognition to individuals who have contributed significantly to youth development. Honorees included Pastor Sunday Omole, Pastor Crown Odusanwo, Pastor Alabi Olaide Isaac, and Pastor (Dr) Peter Olanrewaju.
In addition, the youth officially introduced their new Patron, Evangelist Timothy Adebayo, and inaugurated Elder Olasupo Fakolujo as Youth Adviser, who will work alongside the Youth Matron, Deaconess Olagunju, in mentoring and guiding the fellowship.
Gifts and prizes were also presented to winners of the football tournament, Bible quiz, and music competitions. The program ended with a vote of thanks by the newly inaugurated Youth Patron, a closing hymn, and benediction by the DCC Superintendent, Pastor A.B. Ajani.
A Week to Remember
Reflecting on the week-long celebration, the leadership of Odo-Iye DCC Youth Fellowship expressed gratitude to God for a successful event, describing it as a time of spiritual renewal, unity, and empowerment for the youth.
