The Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary (CACTS), Lagos Campus, graduated 374 students at its 27th convocation ceremony held on Thursday at Idimu, Lagos.
Commissioning the new ministers into the gospel ministry, the General Secretary of the Church, Pastor E. E. Mapur, charged the graduands to embrace servant leadership.
Taking his text from Matthew 20:20–28, Pastor Mapur—who represented the CAC President, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele—reminded the graduands that Christian leadership is not about power, titles, or prestige, but about humble and sacrificial service.
“We live in an age where leadership is often equated with dominance and recognition, but in God’s kingdom greatness is measured by service. Your ministry will have true impact only if you serve selflessly and put others before yourself,” he said.He urged the graduates to model their ministries after Christ, who came not to be served but to serve, and to see leadership as an opportunity to meet both the spiritual and practical needs of their communities.
The ceremony, hosted by the Coordinator of CACTS Lagos Campus, Pastor Tunji Agboola; the Provost of CACTS Ile-Ife, Pastor Francis Ayo Olaniyi; and the Chairman of the Seminary Board of Governance, Pastor G. S. Dada, was attended by dignitaries from various departments of the Church. Among them were the Director of Administration, Pastor Tope Dada; Regional Superintendent, Akiling, Pastor E. A. Olusoko; Regional Superintendent, Pearce, Pastor S. O. Aluko; Regional Superintendent, Akinyele, Pastor S. A. Adedayo; CAC Director of Publicity, Pastor Ademisoye Alawode; and Superintendent, Itire DCC, Pastor Gideon Oladokun. Several other DCC and Zonal Superintendents, church leaders, families, and well-wishers filled the hall to overflowing in celebration of the graduates’ academic and spiritual achievements.
In his address, Pastor Ayo Olaniyi commended the graduates for their discipline and commitment, describing their seminary training as “a divine investment for the benefit of the Church and the world.”
“This Seminary has not only sharpened your minds with theological knowledge, it has moulded your character to reflect Christ. The world is now watching you. The light you carry must shine wherever you go,” he said.He urged them to remain humble, prayerful, and steadfast in study as they step into the demands of ministry.
The convocation blended academic formality with heartfelt worship. The Seminary choir led uplifting songs, the graduates were dedicated in prayer, and families joyfully captured the historic moments.
In his own address, Pastor Tunji Agboola reminded the graduands that their certificates symbolize more than academic success.
“Today is not just a celebration of academic achievement, but a call to greater service in God’s vineyard. True ministry is measured not by titles, but by the lives you touch and the souls you lead to Christ,” he said. For the class of 2025, the day marked not only an academic milestone but also a spiritual commissioning—a call to serve with humility, lead with integrity, and live for eternal impact.
