To ensure effective administration of duties geared at sustainable results in the growth and development of the church, as the activities of the new year 2024 take a full course, Christ Apostolic Church, Somolu Olaleye Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC), Lagos, has on Saturday, January 20, 2024 held a leadership seminar at the church headquarters.

The Superintendent of the DCC, Pastor Joseph Oluwemimo Akinyomi, in company of the District Superintendent, CAC Mount Of Miracle Agiliti, Pastor D.O Adeniyi; District Superintendent, CAC Ile Ayo Ejigbo, Pastor M.S Bewaji and District Superintendent, CAC Oke Ayo Abesan, Pastor J.B Olowolagba, played host to Pastors, Evangelists, Ministers' Wives, Elders, Deaconess and Departmental Heads across the DCC at the designated seminar for leaders.

The Guest Speaker of the 2024 Leadership Seminar, the Zonal Superintendent, CAC Victory Land, Calvary Zone, Pastor I. D. O. Akinpelu spoke extensively on the theme of the seminar, "Leaders Of Positive Impact" from the text, John 13:3-17.

Pastor Akinpelu, who stressed that leaders of positive impact are needed in this age, explained that "the word impact is very synonymous with influence. Positive impact is therefore synonymous with positive influence. Our age is desperately in need of leaders of positive influence. Another strong concept of impact or influence is 'affect' or to have 'effect'. There is no better model for positive impact of leadership than the Great Master, the Lord Jesus Christ."

Identifying the various descriptions of positive impact, the Calvary Zonal Superintendent noted that leaders of positive impact are, God-ordained shepherds; leaders by influence; leaders who impact through relationship; and servant-leaders.

Speaking on being shepherds and leading through influence, he stated that, "both the Old and New Testament refer to the shepherd to designate not only persons who herd sheep but also monarchical leaders (2 Sam 5:2) and God Himself (Isaiah 40:11, Ps. 23:1). Leadership is the ability to lead others through influence. John Quincy Adams said, If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader."

"Leadership is the art of getting things done through people. It is all about relationships. God has placed everyone within the chain of care. Leadership is all about people, and relationships are all about people (Exodus 18:14). It involves doing things to people, doing things for people, doing things through people (Exodus 18:22)," he said.

On being servant-leaders, Pastor Akinpelu described the word servant as the acronym highlighted as, Selfless, Encouragement, Respect, Vision, Attitude, Need and Trust; adding that to positively impact people, leaders must model by example for others to see, build caring relationships and mentor by instructions.

Pastor Akinpelu concluded that, "an ounce of action is worth more than a million intentions. It is not what you hear or know that counts, but what you do with what you know Knowledge is not power; it is knowing the truth and applying it. Life is 1% information and 99% perspiration. Go and put these practical tips into action and see what becomes of your leadership potential."

The seminar left indelible impact on the attendees who are already equipped to ensure the success of the year 2024.
