CAC leaders visit late Gov Akeredolu family

 

CAC Leaders and other delegation with family of late Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu

The Principal Officers of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas on Monday January 8, 2024 paid a condolence visit to the family of late Governor of Ondo, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu in Jericho, Ibadan.

Arakunrin Akeredolu, aged 67, died in a German hospital on Wednesday December  27, 2023 after a protracted battle with prostate cancer.

The church leaders were led by the President, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele. Other principal officers who were part of the visitation are the General Superintendent, Pastor Emmanuel O. Odejobi, General Evangelist, Prophet Hezekiah O. Oladeji, General Secretary, Pastor Emmanuel E. Mapur, Finance Director, Pastor Johnson F. Omitinde and Missions Director, Pastor Caxton S. Fasuyi. The delegation also had in attendance the Regional Superintendent of CAC Babalola Region, Pastor G. S. Dada, Regional Secretary, Pastor A.O. Akinpelu, CAC Director of Publicity, Pastor Ademisoye Alawode, Director of Youth Affairs, Pastor Samson O. Gbuyiro, Special Assistant to the President, Pastor Tunde Asokeji and many others.

While speaking, the President of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Olusegun Oladele said late Gov. Akeredolu will be missed by all for his honesty, his humility and his concern for the welfare of the masses. 

He said the late Governor will be remembered for the legacies he left behind.

He further said that the deceased was very concern with the welfare of the masses and was very courageous, particularly in the facilitation of the creation of Western Security Network, also known as Amotekun Corps.

Pastor Oladele added: "We believe that one day we will meet with Gov. Akeredolu at the feet of Christ where we will reign with Him forever."

The CAC President said the Church had gone on vacation when Governor Akeredolu died in Germany. The leaders, on resumption of work on Monday, therefore, made it a priority to pay a condolence visit to the Akeredolu family immediately after resumption prayers. 

He promised that Christ Apostolic Church, being a prayer church will continue to pray for the Akeredolus because it's her duty. 

Prof. Wole Akeredolu, the immediate younger brother of late Akeredolu appreciated the visitation of CAC leaders, saying that this is not the first intervention of CAC to the Akeredolu family. 

According to him, when late Akeredolu was ill, CAC General Evangelist, Prophet Hezekiah O. Oladeji spent time to pray with them. 

"We thank God for calling Akeredolu home at this time. He knows the best time to take him home. We can ask ourselves questions, but we can't question God. It's a painful thing in our heart. Whatever God does is final," Prof. Akeredolu said.

He disclosed that the burial arrangements has been fixed for Owo, in Ondo State on the 22nd and 23rd of February, 2024.

Oluwarotimi, the son of the late Governor Akeredolu, on behalf of the family thanked the CAC Authorities for the visit. 

He noted that the legacies of honesty, courage and humility left behind by his late father, Akeredolu will still remain with them as family.

He stated that his father was very direct, he will never sugar-coat anything and was a great husband to their mother and great father to all.

The visitation ended with prayer from CAC General Superintendent, Pastor E. Odejobi who quoted Jeremiah chapter 49 verse 11.
