By Shadrach Sarah

It was indeed a moment of rejoicing as Christ Apostolic Church, Alabukun, Ikorodu Districts' Cordinating Council (DCC) celebrated her anniversary coupled with the thanksgiving of the DCC Superintendent, Pastor Lawrence O. Akinloye on Sunday September 4, 2022 at the church auditorium.

The service commenced with a shout of praise as the congregation were full of joy and hearts of thanksgiving to God who spared their lives and particularly on behalf of the the DCC Superintendent, to witness the great day.

The service had in attendance the General Superintendent of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Emmanuel O. Odejobi; Retired Regional Superintendent of Akinyele Region, Pastor M.O. Yusuff; the Regional Superintendent of Akinyele Region, Pastor S. A. Adedayo and many others.

The Superintendent, CAC Ikorodu DCC, Pastor Akinloye who was battled with health challenges since July last year, offered thanksgiving to the most high God for His unending love and preservation over his life and the church of God.

During his testimony, he related how God wrought wonders through him on the sick bed, as one of his children in the Lord with similar health challenge regained her health after he prayed for her.

He went further to state how God had told him ahead about facing life challenges without the fear of death.

In his exhortation, the General Superintendent, CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Odejobi exalted the name of the Lord as the service was supposed to be a funeral service for the Superintendent but God in His infinite mercies turned it to a day of joy.

He said cowards die ten times before their death, commending the brave heart of the DCC Superintendent.

The Clergyman further stated that, "people call the day we were born into this world birthday but I call it bad day because this is the day God drove us out of His kingdom into the wicked world and that is why you see a new born baby cry after being given birth to. The real birthday is the day you accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour."

Speaking on the topic, "Growing in Grace" taken from 2 Peter 3:13-18, the cleric said some people cherish the anointing oil and water than the Word of God.

"Anointing oil and water are good but we must not place them above the Word of God in our lives. Anointing oil and water symbolize grace but why not add knowledge to it?" he said.

According to him, grace is the wife while knowledge is the husband, and when they meet, they give birth to Life.

The General Superintendent concluded by praying for Pastor Akinloye, his wife, family and the DCC at large.
