The President of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele has said the church shall continue to play her role in raising men and women who will be salt and light in their respective sphere of influence.

Pastor Oladele stated this while delivering his speech at the courtesy visit to the Governor of Plateau State, Right Honourable Barrister Simon Bako Lalong at his office in Jos.

The Governor who was unavoidably absent was represented by the Deputy Governor, Professor Sonni Gwane Tyoden who warmly received the President and his entourage.

Pastor Oladele further said the church  will continue to encourage her members to be law abiding and productive while playing their civic roles both at the state and national level.

He told the Governor that;"shortly after my graduation from Bible College in 1974, I accompanied my late master, Pastor Joseph Oyebamiji, to this great city on Evangelistic Mission. Today, by the Grace of God, I have returned to visit as President of Christ Apostolic Church, the very first Pentecostal Church in Nigeria. Our visit is three-fold and are to seek the welfare of our brethren here,to inaugurate our new region named ‘OREKOYA REGION’ and to induct our new Regional Superintendent."

According to the Cleric, a region is the third level of leadership in the administrative structure of our Church, and this is one of the seventeen regions in Christ Apostolic Church worldwide.

He further explained that;"the foray of our forebears into Northern Nigeria began in 1921 through the ministry of Pastor Adelaja whose protege Pastor Stephen A. Akilling became one of the most prominent faces of Christ Apostolic Church on the Plateau. To the glory of God, Christ Apostolic Church has contributed in no small measure to the growth and development of this state – both spiritually and physically. Your excellency, the vision of Christ Apostolic Church is, soul winning and spiritual re-awakening of the world. This we hope to achieve through in-depth Bible Study, Prevailing Prayer and Spiritual Worship. We believe that our visit to Plateau state will further strengthen the bond of unity and peace which exists between the Church and state."

He however, encourage the Governor to continue to lead righteously and see how much peace and progress will pervade the land.

Pastor Oladele prayed that;"May the LORD bless and keep you; may the LORD cause His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you; may the LORD lift up His countenance upon and give you peace, in Jesus’ Mighty Name."

The Deputy Governor in his response said he's not new to Christ Apostolic Church, noting that he has many friends in the church.

Professor Tyoden urged that the relationship between the government and the church should be sustained.

He noted that the church should continue to be on her knees for the country, stating that:" we all know the country is facing many challenges. Pray more for the state and continue to come to our aide."

The General Superintendent of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Emmanuel E. Odejobi who was part of the entourage of the President prayed the closing prayer, while the President said the grace.
