Composer of CAC Sunday School hymn, Pastor Gbadebo is dead

The composer of Christ Apostolic Church Sunday School hymn, Pastor S.O. Gbadebo has rested in the Lord.


The wife of the late icon, Mrs. Comfort Gbedebo confirmed to CAC News this morning that the Late Pastor Gbadebo passed away around 10pm yesterday, Tuesday, October 5, 2021.


According to her, the Baba has has been sick for months, adding he died at age 83.


It would be recalled that the Authorities of Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, on Thursday March 11, 2021 appreciated the efforts of late Pastor Gbedebo with "Outstanding Church Musician" award and undisclosed amount of money at 2021 General Council Meeting in Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State. After the reading of his citation to the congregation by the Music Director of CAC Worldwide, Pastor Tope Dada. Pastor Gbedebo was presented the award by the President of CAC Worldwide, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele.


Similarly, having considered his giant stride and contributions to the development of music in Christ Apostolic Church, the Choir of CAC Yaba Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC) headquarters, Lagos, presented the Late Pastor Gbedebo with an award for being the 2021 Veteran at a programme organised by the Choir tagged "Annual Festival of Hymns and Psalms:Evening with the Veterans" which was held on Sunday June 20, 2021.

  7. Papa Gbadebo should go into the CAC book of history. I know we are all Christians who are full of admiration for Pastor Gbadebo, as a father, but remember we don’t pray for the dead in our Protestant, Evangelical and Pentecostal traditions. It has been appointed to die once, after that judgment. No theological backing for the popular phrase ‘RIP.’
