Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Iye Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC) headquarters, Ekiti State, recently held 2021 Elders and Deaconesses Seminar.

The theme of the well attended programme is "A Vessel Prepared unto Every Good Work" and it had in attendance Elders and Deaconesses of the Church.

While ministering on the topic "Joshua: An Example of an Equipped Leader Follower", the DCC Superintendent of CAC Oke-Iye DCC, Pastor S.O. Ajayi said leaders who are not developing future leaders are not serving the organization well.

He also said that if the church is what it should be, an unconverted person cannot be a leader.

He further said it is strange today to see degenerated souls such as drunkards, fornicators etc. being elected into church office.

"Church office is basically that of service not ruling. If this is missed, there is bound to be problem. Those that will be leaders should have a biblical qualification applied to them," Pastor Ajayi stated.

The Cleric urged the Elders and Deaconesses that they must have a human touch with desire to help, saying that they must be teachable.

He added that "a 'Mr. or Mrs. Know-it-all' has no place in the vineyard of the Lord. He must be humble and recognize the worth of others. A leader must need to spend time with those he seeks to train and nurture. The Lord Jesus sets the example we need to follow."

Pastor Ajayi reiterated that leaders are often ordinary people who accept or are placed in extraordinary circumstances that bring forth their latent potentials, producing a character that inspires confidence and trust within others, saying that greatest leadership seems to surface during times of personal, social, economic, political and spiritual conflict.
