Pastor Oladele becomes JABU's new Visitor

The newly installed Visitor to Joseph Ayo Babalola University, JABU, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele has promised to take the university to greater height both spiritually and physical development.

Speaking after his investiture as the Third Visitor to the 15-year old university, which blazed trail as the first entrepreneurial university in Nigeria, Pastor Oladele lauded the roles played by his predecessors, Pastor E. H. L. Olusheye and Pastor A. O. Akinosun for putting the university on sure and visible development track.

In his acceptance speech after his Investiture as the Visitor, on Friday, Pastor Oladele, quoting Isaiah 43:18,19: “do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” said: “From today, new and greater things will begin to happen in JABU and in our Church in the name of Jesus. There will be spiritual upliftment and financial breakthroughs for all our members in the Church and for every staff and student in the university. JABU will become the cynosure of all eyes and its glory will be seen throughout the whole world”.

Pastor Oladele recalled that the university was established in obedience to divine directives to the leadership of the Christ Apostolic Church to nurture young men and women who will become change agents in the society and impact positively  on both the moral and spiritual lives of its students. He expressed satisfaction that the university has not only been fulfilling its mandate, the feedbacks being received on JABU’s products has been very satisfactory. He however promised that the university would not rest on its oars.

“It is our earnest desire that JABU would not only take its position among the best universities in Nigeria, but become ‘The Standard’ in the comity of universities globally”. He said.

He commended the efforts of the management, the staff and individuals who had in various ways contributed to the growth and development of the university for their labour of love. 

At the special convocation of the university, the authorities of JABU also awarded a Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke with the Honourary Doctorate degree in Public Administration.

Pastor Oladele specially commended the awardee, Hon. Oluwole Oke for the pivotal roles he has played “in the growth and development of our nation”. He expressed his appreciation to him for being a worthy alumnus and an Ambassador of JABU.
