Pastor Oladele to Ministers: God is not interested in crowd winning, but soul winning

By 'Gbenga Bankole

The General Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele has told ministers of God that they should focus on souls winning, saying that God is not interested in crowd winning, but soulwinning.

He noted that the church of God must continue to grow whether it has numerical strength or not, stating that we must be of God.

Pastor Oladele noted this on Saturday August 17, at the 34th Convocation Ceremony of Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary (CACTS) Ede Women Campus, Ede Osun State.

He noted that Ananias and Sapphira were killed by the Holy Spirit because of their hypocritical lives and because of that there was great fear in the early church which is lacking in today's church.

According to him, the hypocritical life of Gehazi has shown that it is possible to be associated with excellence and not excel.

"Not all that were close to Baba Abiye and Apostle Babalola excelled. You should not be arrogant that you're trained or close to a particular Prophet or renowned Pastor. If CAC or CACTS must excel, some people must be expelled. Discipline is lacking in our church today. When some hypocritical people are expelled, the church would grow. There are different types of people in church. Some people are talkative, while some are workers. I don't believe in the talk of the Apostles, I believe in the act of the Apostles," Pastor Oladele said.

He noted that fund raising, programmes and church building are more important to ministers of this generation rather than the presence of God.

However, he said that those things are good for the ministry, but the presence of God must be the predominance.

Pastor Oladele further urged the new graduands not to be bosses but  leaders stating that a boss says "go", while a leader says " let us go."

The Cleric also said that "Some ministers' axe head had fallen into the water and they have substituted it with programmes, fund raising, events, church planting etc. One of the ways you can grieve the Holy Spirit as a minister is to think you can do the work of the ministry alone without His consent."

The General Superintendent urged the graduands to be ready to work at any station, adding that "I remember a message of our President, Pastor A.O. Akinosun sometimes in 1982, he said that we should be ready to go to anywhere God takes us to work either in the palace or in the dungeon." I am always disappointed in some people coming to us that they should be transferred to a  better place. Where is the better place? For me a better place is a place Holy Spirit leads you. One of our Teachers those days in school told us that to be in the Master's (God) will is better than success."
