The Christian Education Department of Christ Apostolic Church, Alapere Zone on Sunday September 9, 2018 held a graduation ceremony for the newly trained Sunday School Teachers of the zone.

About 16 students graduated from a programme which holds on yearly basis for a period of four months. The programme holds on Saturdays and Sundays of every month. This is the 10th graduation ceremony.

Courses offered during the four months programme are Homiletics, Hermeneutics, CAC History, Dispensation, Discipleship and Eschatology. Others are Church History, Church Management, Counseling, Efficacy of Prayer, Homiletics 1& 2, Computer, Ministerial Ethics, English Language etc.

While delivering his welcome address, the Sunday School Coordinator of the zone, Pastor E.S.O. Olayemi said the graduating students should remember that they have been trained, tried and thoroughly tested in character and learning and found to be fit vessels unto honour in the name of Jesus our Lord.

Pastor Olayemi said the graduands should know they are entrusted with  the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, urging them to teach and live it thoroughly in season and out of season.

“I can boldly say that these sets of students are bunch of blessings and assets to the body of Christ and the nations of the world at large. May the Lord Jesus Christ continue to be with them in Jesus name,” he said.

The Zonal Superintendent of CAC Alapere Zone, Pastor E.O. Adebayo stated that the Lord has been grateful to them for granting them the privilege to witness yet another graduation of newly trained Sunday School Teachers.

He appreciated the members of the Executive Council of the zone, the District Superintendents and lecturers for their support in making the graduation ceremony a reality.

“Brethren in the Lord, we implore the District Superintendents, Pastors, Evangelists, Elders, Deaconess and individuals to please intensify their support for the progress of this department via the awareness campaign and recruitment efforts of the candidates to the set objectives and goal of the department,” the cleric said.

Pastor Adebayo urged the graduating students not to deviate from what they have learnt, saying that they should keep it and apply it in concrete situation.

The cleric further stated they should always come around to attend the teachers’ monthly meetings for them to be refreshed.

In an exclusive interview with CAC NEWS, one of the graduands, Jesuwole Emmanuel Oluwarotimi, a graduate of Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) said that the programme was life transforming and it was a room to grow in the spirit.

“The programme has really brought me closer to God. Personally there are things I didn’t know about the Scriptures that this programme made me to understand. This is type of programme I will recommend to people to attend irrespective of their busy schedules,” he explained.

Another graduand who spoke with CAC NEWS, Oyedare Oluwadamilare Elizabeth noted: "I am so happy to be part of this programme. I never imagined it some years ago. I appreciate God for giving me the grace to be among the brethren leaning in His vineyard. The programme has added more than what I even think to me. It makes me realize that for me to grow in Christ I have to have deep understanding of the word of God. I will be able to pass this to people and help them to grow.”
