Regional Superintendent of CAC Pearce Region, Pastor S.O. Aluko
The Regional Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Pearce Region, Pastor S. O. Aluko, has declared that a Christian home should be a place of shared responsibilities rather than competition between husband and wife.
Pastor Aluko made this assertion at the Ministers’ Couples Summit held recently at the Regional Headquarters in Mushin Olorunsogo, Lagos.
Addressing ministers and their spouses, the cleric explained that a man and a woman in a Christian home are not designed to compete with each other but to complement one another according to God’s divine purpose.
He urged ministers and their spouses to cultivate love, unity and mutual understanding, stressing that these virtues are essential for a fruitful and fulfilling ministry.
The guest speaker at the summit, Pastor S. O. Ajayi, PhD, reminded the ministers that the same God who called them into ministry also entrusted them with families to love, nurture and protect.
Pastor Ajayi emphasised that ministers should not pursue their ministerial assignments at the expense of their families, just as family responsibilities should not become an excuse for neglecting ministry.
According to him, the challenge facing ministers is not a choice between ministry and family, but learning to fulfil both responsibilities in accordance with God’s order and purpose.
He observed that some ministers are readily available to everyone in the church but remain emotionally unavailable to their spouses and children at home.
Pastor Ajayi concluded that balancing ministry, marriage and family responsibilities is an ongoing process that requires commitment and intentional effort to achieve a fulfilling life and ministry.
In a health talk, the Regional Secretary, Pastor Ogungbenjo, reminded the ministers and their spouses of the biblical injunction in 1 Corinthians 6:19–20, which describes the body as the temple of the Holy Spirit and calls believers to glorify God in their bodies.
He encouraged the ministers and their spouses to prioritise their health by ensuring adequate rest and maintaining healthy eating habits.
The summit was attended by District Coordinating Council (DCC) and Zonal Superintendents, alongside other ministers and their spouses from across the Region.
