The remarkable event, held on Thursday, October 1st, 2026, at the District Headquarters. The DCC and District Superintendent, Pastor Zechariah A. Omoboyede declared the program open with a heart full of gratitude to God Almighty. In his opening remarks, he committed the programme into God’s hands through the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

The programme continued through spirit lifted songs of praises by the district choirs. Afterwards, Prophet Adedokun John Adewale led a powerful prayer session.

WELCOME ADDRESS

In alignment with the theme of the programme: Word Formed Worker (2nd Timothy 3:16-17, Matthew 4:19), Chairman of the Planning Committee, Evangelist Kunle E. OMIDIRAN, stressed that the ultimate tool responsible for the spiritual formation of all believers is the word of God. In his address, he emphasized that the output of our services depends on what we are formed with. While a lot of believers are zealous for different tasks in the church, he asserts that it is expedient to take heed to the formation of such individuals in light of God's word. This is to ensure a life, attitude and service that reflects the life of Christ in the Christian community and secular space.

He urged participants to focus on their spiritual formation through the Word of God, reminding them that “whenever the word of God finds expression in the life of a Christian (member or worker), such an individual will inevitably become a profitable vessel in the vineyard of God”.

LECTURE SESSIONS

Lecture One:

The first lecture, titled “The Gospel Workers Formed by God's Word” was delivered by Pastor D.H.A Adediwura. He described a gospel worker as a person who has been called equipped and committed to disseminate the gospel of Jesus Christ and helping people to become disciples of Christ. According to him, the word of God is the revelation of God's character, will, truth and purpose to humanity. He emphasized on a few attributes of God's word: living, powerful, truth, inspired by God, eternal, pure, perfect, light, unchanging despite changing time and culture. Furthermore, Pastor Adediwura affirms that the word of God is not merely a book to read, but a Divine standard to believe, obey and live by in order to reshape the life of the Gospel workers, bringing glory to God in ramifications.

Lecture Two:

Pastor George O. Olatayo delivered the second lecture titled: “Attitudes and Responsibilities of Word-Formed Ministers of God in a Changing World” Drawing from 2nd Timothy 3:16-17, Matthew 4:19, 2nd Peter 1:5-8, Luke 19:12-13. He described a minister of God as a person who is ready to do the will of God and direct people to God from their ways of perdition and destruction. He listed few attributes of the Word-Formed Ministers of God: faith in God, steadfast, conviction, courageous discipline, good characters among others.

He charged workers to take responsibilities in God's vineyard as ministers who stand before God for the people, acceptance of responsibility, standing for the truth, leading others in the right direction. He also emphasized that Word-Formed Ministers of God are not character deficient; citing biblical characters like Joseph, Samuel, Joshua, Apostle Paul, Apostle Peter among others.

Pastor Olatayo concluded the message with an awakening call: "The battle may be fierce, the culture may be corrupt, the pressure may be great, but GOD IS STILL SAYING; WORD-FORMED MINISTERS OF GOD, RISE UP!

The session was concluded powerfully as Pastor E. Oboni prayed for both Guest Ministers and participants.

Lecture Three:

The final lecture, presented by Pastor Z.A. Omoboyede, focused on “Sustaining your Spiritual Fervour as Word Formed Worker”, drawing references from Romans 12:11, Leviticus 6:12, and 2nd Timothy 3:16-17. He stressed that the journey of faith is not a sprint, but it is like a marathon race that requires certain elements of sustainability such as strength, resilience, discipline, fervour, among others in order to finish strong. While we run this race, our sustainability depends on our relationship with God and passion for His Word. He described spiritual fervour as zeal, passion and devotion of a believer for the spiritual things.

He asserts that a believer can sustain his spiritual fervour through cordial relationship with the Holy Spirit; Reading, meditation and daily application of God's word; Prayer; Periodic retreat; Regular practice of silent time; Availability in believers gathering; Accountability to Spiritual Leaders among others.

According to Him, benefits of sustaining spiritual fervour include spiritual growth and maturity, access to spiritual things, unbroken relationship with God, advancement of God's work, and success in all ramifications of life. The anniversary and refresher course message was closed with Leviticus 6:13 - the fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.

Participants described the lecture as eye-opening, as it deepened their insight about the necessity to be fervent in spirit.
