In total submission to the will of the Almighty God, the Christ Apostolic Church, Odubanjo Region (Ondo State), has announced the passing of its retired Regional Superintendent, Pastor D.I.O. Edoh.
Pastor Edoh served as the second Regional Superintendent of the Odubanjo Region from 2019 to 2022, retiring at the statutory age of 75.
The announcement of his passing was made in an official statement shared on the verified Facebook page of the incumbent Regional Superintendent, Pastor Gideon O. Obiwale. The statement described the late cleric as a devoted servant of God whose life was marked by unwavering commitment to ministry and leadership within the Church.
Church leadership expressed gratitude for Pastor Edoh’s years of service, highlighting his significant contributions to the growth of the Church and the advancement of the Gospel. He is remembered for his exemplary leadership and dedication to the spiritual development of the region.
The Odubanjo Region also extended prayers and condolences to his family, the Church community, and all those affected by his passing, asking God to grant them strength, comfort, and peace during this period of mourning.
Pastor Edoh was called into ministry in 1967 and was mentored by Pastor M. A. Akintayo during the early stages of his ministerial career. He attended CAC Bible College, Akure (1973–1974), and was among the pioneering students of CAC Theological Seminary, Ile-Ife (1979–1981).
He was ordained as a pastor in 1981, alongside notable contemporaries including Pastors M. A. Ogundeji, John Ajayi, Babatola, and the late President of the Church, Pastor A. O. Akinosun. Over the years, he served in various capacities within the CAC mission, rising through the ranks before his appointment as the second Regional Superintendent of the Odubanjo Region in 2019.
During his four-year tenure, Pastor Edoh made significant contributions to church growth and evangelism. Under his leadership, over 300 evangelists were ordained as pastors; 59 Assembly Pastors and their assemblies were elevated to District Superintendent and District status; 15 District Superintendents and districts were upgraded to Zonal Superintendent and Zonal status; and seven zones were further elevated to District Coordinating Council (DCC) level.
Additionally, the region experienced overall growth in the number of assemblies and infrastructural development. Notably, a Lexus LX 470 official vehicle was acquired for regional use during his tenure. Pastor Edoh also donated a photocopying machine to the region.
His legacy of service, leadership, and commitment to the work of God remains deeply appreciated within the Church.
