The Special Assistant to the President of Christ Apostolic Church, Pastor T.D. Asokeji, has emphasized soul winning and spiritual revival as the central focus of the Church’s mandate, during a lecture delivered at the 2026 Honorary Pastoral Ordination Training Programme of the church held in Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State.
Addressing ministers undergoing pastoral ordination training, Pastor Asokeji spoke on the topic, “Vision and Mission of Christ Apostolic Church,” highlighting the Church’s foundational principles and spiritual priorities.
He explained that every organisation stands on four essential pillars — people, purpose, policies, and process — noting that these elements shape the culture and identity of any institution, including the Church.
According to him, the vision of Christ Apostolic Church is clearly defined as “Soul Winning and Spiritual Re-awakening of the World.”
He stressed that all Church programmes, including revivals, teachings, and evangelistic outreaches, must be intentionally directed toward winning souls and restoring believers who have lost faith or become spiritually discouraged.
“Soul winning is directed at those who do not know Jesus Christ, while spiritual re-awakening focuses on reviving believers who have backslidden or grown cold in their faith,” he said.
Pastor Asokeji further explained that the mission of the Church serves as the strategy for achieving its vision.
He identified in-depth Bible study, prevailing prayer, and spiritual worship as key instruments for leading people into the knowledge of God.
He urged ministers not to take opportunities to teach the Word of God lightly, emphasizing that pastors have the responsibility to build a strong Bible study culture within their congregations.
“Our prayers must be Bible-based. When the congregation understands the Word, ministry becomes easier, and prayer becomes more effective,” he stated.
He also encouraged ministers to demonstrate humility and active participation in worship, reminding them to see pastoral ordination as a privilege rather than a position for self-exaltation.
Speaking on the Church’s motto, “One Fold, One Shepherd,” Pastor Asokeji stressed the importance of preserving unity within the Body of Christ, noting that unity must be intentional and protected.
The cleric also reaffirmed the importance of the Church’s 13 tenets, describing them as the core values that guide its doctrine, practices, and spiritual direction.
In his closing remarks, Pastor Asokeji reminded the ministers that beyond salvation, contentment remains one of the greatest gifts God can give to a believer.
Structured evangelism and church planting remain key components of the three-point agenda of the Church President, and this pre-ordination training exercise is expected to further strengthen the vision by providing more labourers for effective church planting and evangelism.
