It was a remarkable and memorable day at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Oke Ibukun, Agbamu District, as the church held a special honorary service in celebration of the just retired Finance Director of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Johnson Folusho Omitinde.

The special service, held on Sunday, February 22, at the district headquarters in Sanyo, Ibadan, drew dignitaries including ministers and members of CAC Oke Ado DCC who gathered to celebrate the former Finance Director's life of faithful and impactful service.

Pastor Omitinde was showered with encomiums and gifts in appreciation of his dedication, humility, and generosity throughout his years in office.

Representatives of the church described him as a man whose influence was felt across all departments within Agbamu District, noting his prudent stewardship, diligence and commitment to excellence.

Exhorting the church during the service, the District Superintendent, Pastor Moses Babatunde, spoke on the topic, “Increasing in the Work of God.”

Drawing from 1 Corinthians 15:58 and Proverbs 22:29, he emphasized diligence, faithfulness, and obedience as indispensable virtues in God’s service.

He described Pastor Omitinde as a diligent and dependable servant of God, noting that even within the short time he had known him, he observed his steadfastness and humility despite the sensitivity of the office he occupied.

He stressed that success in ministry is only made possible by the wisdom of God and one’s cooperation with Him through obedience.

Citing the admonition in Proverbs 6:6, he warned against laziness, stating that a lazy person cannot effectively walk with God.

He further likened the charge to God’s instruction to Joshua, reminding believers that there is always more ground to cover in the vineyard of the Lord.

Pastor Babatunde encouraged members to see themselves as labourers established by God in His vineyard, urging them not to work merely for rewards but to remain faithful, trusting that due rewards will come in God’s appointed time.

He admonished the congregation to work as the Master requires, emphasizing the need to know God intimately in order to understand the demands of His work.

In his response, Pastor Omitinde returned all glory to God, appreciating Him for His wisdom and faithfulness throughout his life and ministry.

He acknowledged that his accomplishments in ministry and in office were made possible solely by God’s grace.

He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the church leadership and members, as well as everyone who contributed to the successful organization of the honorary service.

Pastor Omitinde served with distinction as CAC Finance Director for 33 years, from 1992 to 2025.
