The Possessing 2026 programme commenced yesterday with a powerful and inspiring message delivered by the Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Ilorin Districts’ Coordinating Council, Evangelist E. T. Akeredolu, during the Day One session aired live on CAC News Facebook and YouTube platforms.

Preaching on the theme “Empowered to Possess 2026”, Evangelist Akeredolu anchored his message on Acts 1:8, emphasizing that believers can only fully possess the year 2026 through the power of the Holy Spirit.

He urged Christians to look beyond personal resolutions and align their plans with God’s purpose for the new year.

While speaking on the promise of the Holy Spirit, the cleric referenced John 14:16–17, describing the Holy Spirit as the believer’s Helper, Advocate, and Guide who dwells permanently in every child of God. He stressed that the presence of the Holy Spirit distinguishes believers and empowers them for victorious living.

Evangelist Akeredolu explained that the empowerment of the Holy Spirit goes beyond performing miracles, noting that it enables believers to overcome sin, live in love, and boldly witness for Christ. Quoting Luke 24:49, he highlighted that the word “power” comes from the Greek word dunamis, meaning supernatural and explosive ability to accomplish divine assignments.

Speaking on the concept of possessing the year 2026, he stated that it entails walking in faith, overcoming obstacles, and fulfilling God’s ordained purpose through the enablement of the Holy Spirit.

The preacher also cited the biblical account of Gideon in Judges 7 as an example of divine empowerment.

He noted that despite Gideon’s army being reduced from 32,000 to 300 men, God granted victory over the Midianites, demonstrating that success is achieved by God’s power rather than human strength or numbers.

In his concluding charge, Evangelist Akeredolu encouraged believers to earnestly seek the infilling and guidance of the Holy Spirit as they journey through 2026, assuring that divine empowerment is key to overcoming challenges and fulfilling God’s purpose in the year ahead.

Earlier in the programme, the Superintendent of CAC Rejoice Arena, Pastor Segun Awolumate, featured as the guest analyst during the analysis session, where he spoke on the topic ‘The Church and the Nation: Prophetic Voices in Times of Transition.’

The Possessing 2026 programme continues today with more anointed sessions aimed at equipping believers for a victorious and impactful year.
