Christ Apostolic Church, Borokiri Districts’ Coordinating Council (DCC), Port Harcourt, recently held a grand sent-forth service in honour of Pastor Isaac Oke, who was transferred by the church authority after serving as the Minister in Charge of CAC Borokiri Assembly, the District Superintendent of Borokiri District, and the DCC Superintendent of Borokiri DCC.

The atmosphere was filled with joy and gratitude as members celebrated what they described as the Lord’s great deeds in the life and ministry of Pastor Oke.

Pastor Oke assumed leadership of the CAC Borokiri family on January 1, 2022, and bowed out on December 31, 2024. The thanksgiving and farewell service, hosted at the CAC Borokiri DCC Headquarters, No. 1 Tourist Beach Road, Borokiri, was organized to appreciate his impactful three-year tenure.

The service, integrated into the regular Sunday worship, commenced at 7:30 am with workers’ prayer, followed by Sunday School, hymn rendition, praise and worship, congregational prayers, and Bible lessons. The high point of the service began with the formal introduction of the celebrant, Pastor and Prof. (Mrs.) Isaac Oke, after which Pastor Oke delivered his valedictory message.

Preaching on the topic “Occupying Through Ceaseless Prayer” with 1 Thessalonians 5:17 as his text, Pastor Oke emphasized the following key points:

1. Regardless of one’s spiritual gifts, no one can succeed without a consistent prayer life.

2. Gifts become fully effective and evident when backed by fervent prayer.

3. Prayer should be as essential as breathing—believers must pray without ceasing because God answers prayers.

He concluded by acknowledging God’s help, through prayer, as the foundation of his achievements in CAC Borokiri. He urged the congregation to draw closer to God in order to receive the strength needed to excel in life.

Earlier in the service, the host minister, Pastor S. A. Afolabi, warmly welcomed everyone and encouraged the congregation to show appreciation to the celebrant for his remarkable contributions.

The climax of the ceremony was the presentation of gifts to Pastor Oke, coordinated in an orderly manner—from the DCC leadership to individual members.

Notable achievements during Pastor Oke’s administration include:

1. Serving as Vice Chairman, Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN), Rivers State.

2. Purchase of an official church vehicle.

3. Establishment and furnishing of a guest house for visiting ministers.

4. Tiling of the church auditorium.

5. Installation of ceiling panels in the church auditorium.

6. Construction of a baptistry (baptismal pool) within the church premises.

7. Purchase of musical instruments for the Youth Chapel (CAC Chapel of Power)

8. Tiling improvements in the curate’s apartment.

9. Landscaping and beautification of the church frontage with flowers

The event had in attendance several dignitaries, including the Regional Mother, Mummy Mary Ikefuama; Borokiri DCC Superintendent, Pastor S. A. Afolabi; District Superintendents; Pastors; Evangelists; Midwives; Elders; Deaconesses; and members of the church.

In his vote of thanks, Pastor Oke expressed profound gratitude to God for His faithfulness. He appreciated Pastor Afolabi for spearheading the sent-forth service and thanked the entire CAC Borokiri family for their support during his tenure and their demonstration of love at the occasion.

The event was described as highly successful and to the glory of God.
