Kwara Bandit Attack: 38 abducted CAC members regain freedom

The Thirty-eight members of Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Isegun, Erùkú Zonal Headquarters, Eruku, Kwara State, who were abducted by bandits on Tuesday November 18, 2025 have regained their freedom.

The Government of Kwara State confirmed the return of the victims on Sunday through a Press release by the Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaiye.

Recall that the President of Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele visited the Church in Erùkú on Friday to commiserate with the brethren and encourage them too.

There he prayed for the prompt release of those who were abducted as well as comfort to the families of members who lost their lives during the incident.

“We serve a living God, and He remains God in all situations; He promised never to leave nor forsake us, we trust Him to do just that," he said.

Similarly, while ministering at the dedication and handing-over service of Christ Apostolic Church, Mountain of Restoration, Osogbo, Osun State—donated by Professor 'Siji and Mrs Olamiju on Saturday — Pastor Oladele emphasized that the God of our founding fathers in CAC is still our God, and that He can do for us the kind of mighty works which He did for them, if we believe in Him.

Pastor Oladele emphasized that the battles of life, for a Christian, are better fought and won on our knees (through prayers).

He reiterated the need for us to be guided by the Bible in our actions and reactions to issues rather than casting aspersion on people.

In order to give bite to this conviction, the Authority of Christ Apostolic Church declared Sunday November 23, 2025 a day of prayer and by nightfall of that same day the news of their release was in the air.
