Amidst smiles, dance, worship, and heartfelt songs of praise, Christ Apostolic Church Finance Department celebrated the retirement of Mrs. Felicia Iyabo Akinyele, former Account Manager, on October 30, 2025.
Having served at the Finance Department of the CAC General Secretariat for 30 years of meritorious service, Mrs. Akinyele was showered with encomium, commendations, and expressions of deep gratitude from colleagues, well-wishers, and friends who joined in the celebration.
Testimonies from colleagues revealed that Mrs. Akinyele exemplified good character both at home and in the workplace.
Reflecting on the encomiums shared by staff, friends, and family, the Finance Director of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Johnson F. Omitinde, commended her as a dedicated and committed employee whose service left a lasting impact on both the department and the General Secretariat at large.
The General Secretary of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Emmanuel E. Mapur, also highlighted Mrs. Akinyele’s consistent character, noting that he had known her for many years, even before she began her service at the Secretariat.
In his sermon titled “Fulfilling Retirement Plan,” Pastor Mapur emphasized that retirement is a blessing and a milestone everyone hopes to reach.
He encouraged the celebrant to remain steadfast in her connection with God, recognizing that being preserved by Him up to this stage is a divine favor.
Referencing the book of Joshua 14:10-11, Pastor Mapur emphasized that old age is not a time to slow down but to continue making an impact in the lives of others.
He then encouraged the celebrant to prioritize spiritual growth, invest in and nurture relationships, care for her body, manage finances wisely, and continue receiving mentorship even at her retirement age noting that no one is above learning.
The service was marked not only with words of appreciation but also through gifts presented by both the Church and well-wishers.
In response to the honorable gestures and accolades, Mrs. Akinyele expressed her heartfelt gratitude to God for His preservation over her life all these years, acknowledging that all she has achieved has been by His grace.
She also thanked the organizers and everyone present at the event, humbly seeking forgiveness from anyone she might have wronged and extending forgiveness to those who may have wronged her.
The retirement service was further honored by the presence of the General Secretary and Finance Director, and shortly after the event concluded, the President of CAC Nigeria and Overseas joined in to share a memorable snapshot with the celebrant.
Other dignitaries in attendance included the Director of Administration, Pastor Tope Dada, Ph.d, the Director of Youth Affairs, Pastor Peter Olanrewaju, Ph.D.; as well as other directors, heads of departments, and staff members of the Secretariat.
