| Superintendent of CAC Igando DCC, Pastor S.O. Ajayi, Ph.D |
Christians have been urged to face death with faith and courage rather than fear and lamentation.
This charge was given by the Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Igando DCC, Pastor Stephen Oluwatoyin Ajayi, PhD in his sermon at the funeral service of Late Evangelist (Mrs) Dorcas Omodunni Adebayo, held at CAC Oke Ibukun, Alimoso District Headquarters, Igando DCC recently.
Preaching on the topic “Facing Death with Confidence,” Pastor Ajayi described death as a divine arrangement for believers to put off mortal bodies and receive eternal, incorruptible ones. He emphasized that death lost its power at the resurrection of Christ and can no longer torment Christians.
He added that any believer who fears death is either ignorant of the Scriptures or yet to be fully convinced of their salvation. According to him, “The death of a Christian is a gain of heaven and a reason for celebration, not mourning.”
Encouraging the family of the deceased, Pastor Ajayi urged them to take solace in the Word of God and the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
Late Evangelist (Mrs) Dorcas Omodunni Adebayo (née Oyebamiji) was the widow of Pastor Abraham Adebayo, the planter of CAC Alimoso District in Igando DCC.
The service was attended by several church leaders, including Pastor M.O. Daramola (Zion Zone Superintendent), Pastor E.O. Omotoso (Alimoso District Superintendent), Pastor Adetutu Akin Isaac (Pearce Region Publicity Secretary and District Superintendent, Alaba Oro District), and Rev. Samuel Adeyemi (Chairman, CAN Alimoso Chapter), as well as church members, family, friends, and well-wishers.
