Blissful Family Bond International, a movement established by Mike Sola Olatunji with a mission to guide singles and married couples toward experiencing a godly and blissful marriage, held yet another impactful edition of its annual seminar on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

The well-attended program, themed “How to Build a Long Lasting Marriage,” brought together individuals and families from different walks of life who were eager to gain biblical insight and practical wisdom on building and sustaining strong homes.

The convener and keynote speaker, Mike Sola Olatunji, opened his lecture by stressing the indispensable role of God in marriage. “To build a blissful marriage, you need the God factor. He instituted it, and you can’t succeed outside Him,” he affirmed.

He likened marriage to the building of Rome, noting that it requires time, patience, and endurance. “Rome wasn’t built in a day. Likewise, a blissful marriage isn’t built in a day. It takes commitment to God, time, and the endurance of both spouses to build the Rome of your marriage,” he said.

Breaking down his lecture into key principles, Olatunji first admonished singles to properly understand the meaning of marriage. He cautioned against shallow motivations such as financial escape or sexual satisfaction. “Some go into marriage because they want to escape poverty, but marriage is not a poverty alleviation program. It is hard work. It is service. It is meant for mature individuals with a clear sense of purpose,” he explained. He emphasized that without maturity and purpose, a marriage may struggle to thrive.

Secondly, he underscored the importance of sequence in life and relationships. Olatunji stated that self-discovery and purpose must precede the search for a life partner.

“The sequence of life must be followed if you want positive results. First discover yourself, find and understand your purpose. A purposeless life cannot build a purposeful marriage. If you haven’t discovered yourself, your life partner has nothing to partner with,” he declared. Using a football analogy, he further explained the importance of making wise choices in marriage. “A coach who fills his team with goalkeepers and expects to win by prayer will fail. The same goes for marriage. Your choice goes a long way. Don’t allow your choice today become your prayer point tomorrow,” he advised. He reminded married participants that their sequence must always be God first, then family, with the spouse taking precedence before the children.

Addressing the realities of marriage, Olatunji urged couples to embrace acceptance and balance. “No two marriages are the same. Don’t compare your spouse with another person’s. After unwrapping the gift of your marriage, if you see weaknesses, balance them. Accept the reality of your spouse and your marriage,” he taught. He went on to encourage participants to develop the ability to manage differences, pointing out that understanding personality traits, whether sanguine, melancholy, choleric, or phlegmatic is essential in resolving conflicts.

In concluding his lecture, Olatunji highlighted six timeless principles that sustain marriages: the principle of oneness and unity of purpose, the principle of applied wisdom and knowledge, the principle of agreement, the principle of genuine and mutual love, the principle of service, and the principle of accountability. “The moment you get married, you don’t own yourself anymore. Be accountable to your spouse. Feed the love in your marriage daily, because love is what keeps the union alive,” he said with conviction.

Beyond the lecture, the seminar created an atmosphere of spiritual upliftment as prayer sessions were held for various groups, including mature singles ready for marriage, couples in troubled relationships, families seeking the fruit of the womb, and for the expansion of Blissful Family Bond International. The program also reflected a spirit of compassion, as Olatunji personally extended financial gifts to all widows present, bringing smiles and encouragement to their hearts.
